Up to Speed

Good morning Tumblrverse. It’s been a while since we last spoke, so here’s a quick update to catch you up:

We lost our bass player (well, he’s not lost, he’s just not playing with us anymore). We weren't playing enough Disco for his tastes…. It’s a FUNK bank. I understand the overlap but we are not a Disco band so there is enough disco already.

Jerry joined the band this week. He is a phenomenal bass player and has tons of experience playing with Will and Conan already.  I hope he sticks it out and stays with us.

I picked up two new followers this week.  I wish it was because I'm so fucking awesome at what I do here, but I'm much more sure that it's because Shellshokt mentioned me in one of her posts and these two wonderful people have thrown me a pity follow.  I will do my best to not have you regret that choice.

Speaking of my two new followers, they are beautiful women.  Like whoa.  I like where this is going ....

Da Band will have it's first live gig at the end of April.  Ready or not, we are doing it because nothing makes you practice harder than a firm deadline.  It's an open mic at a bar and so we don't know how many songs we'll get out before they yank us off stage, but I'm hoping for at least two because I sing the second one :)

It's a strange thing processing the loss of a tumblr friend whom I had never met, but I know he will leave a big hole here for many of us. My heart bleeds for his loved ones.

5 Facts....

1. I was born October of ‘69…(insert giggles here…) 2. My favorite bar that I visited at least once a week for the last 2 YEARS! just closed permanently, 2am Sunday. 3. I was once engaged to a woman from Arequipa, Peru. 4. I got my start in Public Television because my mom donated a painting for their on-air auction. 5. My first REAL, theatre show involved 2 30ft Ryder Rental trucks and is now 3, full-sized tractor trailers. (Previous theatre experience was 2 plays me and my oldest friend had written and performed for our church.)
