Deathclaws and Sam: Goris: Please confer to me your wisdom as I deeply enjoy our relationship and trust your intellect and experience
Xarn: LET’S GET RIGGITY *belch* RIGGITY WRECKED, SON
People Sam might open up to or otherwise consult for advice: Bea (Sam and Bea, BFFs imho) Mac (poor Mac though seeing his super chill unwavering rock buddy fall apart in front of him :( ) Luna (buried under teddy bears, send help) Goris (help me understand stuff you’re wise as hell and I trust you a lot) Georgia (do robots dream of electric angst) Joshua (this could go all kinds of places, most of which likely bad and Sam gets all ultraviolence stab happy on some poor damn zion invaders to the point any survivors spin it into some campfire horror story of THE BEAST OF ZION)
deathindeathclaw warrior-xarn i want to personally thank you both for talking deathclaws
XARN HOW COULD YOU TELL EVERYONE ABOUT NEW RENO
THEY ASKED FOR A GOOD MEMORY AND THAT WAS A DELIGHTFUL ONE from my point of view.
☠ ☼
☠Bad Memory:
“Please forgive any lapses in my memory. I did not have my wits about me fully until some time after these events.
Goris has helped me piece some of this together. He apparently found me perhaps… a week, maybe longer that, after I found my way back to Vault 13. My estimate isn’t perfect. I was in terrible state when he arrived, still recovering from physical and mental wounds from my time at Navarro, and it was not a healthy combination when I discovered… well, the fate of our pack. He later told me that he had been there earlier and seen for himself, and had a chance to exact some revenge against the Enclave at the Oil Rig. That could have been why he didn’t behave so… foolishly as I did.
Anyway, I had not been able to bring myself to either go back in the vault or leave. Goris’s business with the Chosen One was over, after attempts at rousing me from my stupor largely failed, he went on a brief hunt and eventually got me moving again once I had a bit of energy. It would have been a poor decision to stay any longer.
I know I was terrible company during those first few months of travel. I was withdrawn, constantly tiring and in pain, and I know I woke him with my nightmares on multiple occasions. He wanted to be close, I eventually came to realize, but I was skittish. I avoided his touch and only participated in the most basic of conversations. I could barely bring myself to pull my weight in hunts.
I’m not sure what brought me to think about it one night, but I finally understood as I watched him sleeping across from me on the little patch of earth we had claimed to rest in. We were both all that the other had left. We needed eachother. I had been emotionally distant, and even a liability to his own safety at my worst, but he had stuck by me. He had surely been going through at least some suffering of his own… and I had been selfish.
He did not say anything when I woke him, or even when we left the next morning, but I felt him tense briefly when I moved to curl up against his side. I couldn’t keep doing this for either of our sake.”
☼ Good Memory:
“Let me think of something less… awful now. Hmm…
Oh, this is a good one. A few years into our travels, we eventually decided to make a visit to New Reno. We were in the area, and we had heard that mutants there weren’t uncommon, so… why the hell not. Neither of us had been there before, and despite also hearing about it being a focus point of pure human vice, we decided to risk it. I had begun wearing a disguise as well at that point, so we didn’t get nearly as many odd looks as I had expected.
To tell the truth, there wasn’t much of interest to us there. We visited the “pharmacy” looking for medical supplies, but there wasn’t much there besides a few first aid kits and human drugs. We had more caps to spare than expected.
We decided to explore a bit more then, and eventually wound up at a bar. I believe it was called… Salvador’s or Salvatore’s or something. Anyway, we had a few drinks, no one really bothered us, and it was a fairly pleasant evening. We didn’t even wind up intoxicated, really. Beverages tend to do little for us.
So, eventually we left, and we were simply standing outside for a moment deciding what to do next… when we spot a human across the road, beckoning to us. Being in the city that we were, we would have otherwise paid this person no mind, but they didn’t appear to be like any of the prostitutes we had encountered. Goris decided to investigate. I stayed behind, since I wasn’t all that interested.
I was minding my own business, observing the lights and clientele of the other club nearby, when out of nowhere, Goris rushes up out of nowhere and hooks me around the arm. He told me we were leaving, and he all but dragged me out of the town. I didn’t argue since something had clearly troubled him to act in this way. Was we were far enough out of sight and earshot of the guards at the front gate, he told me what had happened.
That human, with only the barest knowledge of the physical size of him under his robe, had propositioned Goris to take part in a human pornographic film.
That was probably the longest and hardest I had laughed in a long time, and he was still sore about it a few days later. Reno was certainly… something.”
My my, you must have eaten all your vegetables.
Prim looked up, aware of a shadow breaching into her space and overcasting the scraggly flowers in front of her. She looked backwards, one hand held out to balance as she leant to the side.
"Hello big guy! Where are you heading?"
Sam. Are you well?
*gives the deathclaw a huge grin* Can’t complain, Goris! Was wondering where you went, good to see you again! How've you been?
