I want something to read but have a hard time finding material I like that feels appropriate. So I’m going to take a crack at re-reading “Deep Survival,” which is about how people, when faced with extraordinary circumstances, often fail to adapt for a variety of reasons.

A lot of it is about wilderness survival, but with an eye toward applications across a larger swath of experiences. “Everyone who dies out there,” he says, “Dies of confusion.”
