Indulge in the delightful combination of deep-dish chocolate chip cookie with a luscious caramel layer, topped with a sprinkle of sea salt for that perfect sweet-salty balance.
Ingredients: 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar. 2 large eggs. 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract. 3 cups all-purpose flour. 1 teaspoon baking soda. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips. 1 cup caramel sauce. Sea salt flakes, for sprinkling.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 350F 175C. Grease a 9-inch deep-dish pie pan. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips. Press half of the cookie dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared pie pan. Pour the caramel sauce over the dough, spreading it out to form an even layer. Take the remaining cookie dough and flatten it into disks. Place the disks on top of the caramel layer, covering it as best as possible. Sprinkle sea salt flakes over the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the cookie is golden brown. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
