I have always loved food, but my 4 months living in Spain truly turned me into the huge foodie I am now. Madrid, and my travels around Europe while living there, opened my eyes to new cuisines and how fresh food could really be. Now, I have moved my foodie adventures to Chicago. I love trying new restaurants around the city, plus incorporating the fresh, real ingredients, which made me love Spanish food so much, into all of my cooking and baking at home. @brett81014 planned a great date night this weekend, starting off at @formentoschi ! The food, vibes, and service were amazing. We started with the charred octopus (so tender and flavorful), then split the Canestri (pasta with pork neck sauce, meatballs, fennel sausage, and ricotta), agnolotti (with asparagus, mushrooms, mascarpone, and truffle butter), and the mushrooms. Enjoyed an incredible meal for @brett81014 ‘s birthday at @bocadillomarket this weekend. We both love Spanish food and these upscale tapas did not disappoint! We got the octopus and scallops, jamón croquetas, patatas bravas, tuna crudo, and artichoke and black winter truffle. The artistry of the meal was amazing and each dollop of sauce added so much flavor. We got the churros con chocolate for dessert (ate them too quickly to get a nicely plated picture) and all of the staff signed a birthday card for Brett, which was such a nice touch! Went to Memphis for the first time this weekend for a wedding and of course had to get some BBQ! We went to @centralbbq and it was some of the best I’ve ever had. The ribs were literally fall-off-the-bone tender, the Mac n cheese was rich and had a little spice, and the mild sauce was my fav. Checked out @golden_tuzo_pastes and it was definitely worth the trek! Delicious Mexican empanadas. They were made with a super flakey and delicious pastry crust. I got 3- one with chicken tinga, one green mole, and one with arroz con leche, plus a watermelon agua fresca. The seafood in Charleston continued at @rappbarchs ! I got the SOB Peach Tea drink and it was one of the best cocktails I’ve had.
