painting is so weird ,, its like u mess up until you suddenly see the very vague idea u were aiming for and then u kinda unconsciously know how to make it better from there

#idk how to explain it !!!#like ill be painting these turtles right #and one moment it just looks like a blob of greens and browns and makes no sense #but then u add One brush stroke of yellow or something and its like ur brain implodes and u suddenly see the turtle #and then i just mix and lay down colors w/o really thinking of it #what a cool process #anyways these turtles are testing me bc theres so much texture #and im used to frogs where u just have slimy skin but now i have to look at the shell and its ridges etc #definitely different #it looks better from far away thats for sure lol #anyways i cant wait to see what itll look like when im done :D #lgtalks

Just took the baby to see The Lion King.

About halfway thru, he started crying.

This is a kid who's seen it well over 20 times. (It's his favorite and the only one he'll sit still for) And he didn't do the screaming crying that disrupts everything. No. He curled up against my chest, tears just running, all sad and pouty and damn near depressed. Broke my heart. I think we both discovered the meaning of "sweet torture".
