i made some edits of my girl dehya from genshin impact where i gave her the melanin she deserves (and some extra makeup too since she canonically does makeup)

im lowkey a little nervous to post this here bc i legit dont know what the genshin fandom on tumblr is like, but regardless, i will NOT be tolerating any racism targeted against this post and/or any defense of hoyoverse. if you don’t like these edits for whatever reason, then feel free to just scroll past and not interact, otherwise you will be blocked

Just some fanart of Dehya, which is also my redesign of her from a couple of posts back here. This is one of my proudest works ❤️ I rarely do art like this, but I love it! She came out beautiful. The weapon not gonna lie was hard and could've been better, but I'm happy with this honestly.❤️❤️

Dehya is one of my favorite sumeru characters, yet unfortunately, it is one of the sumeru characters that could have had a better design. The only thing Middle Eastern to me was her boots(which I love).

One thing that really confused me was how she is constantly referred to as a lioness, but her ears are more house cat, and also, she has both cat ears and human ears, which is a little strange.

So, for her redesign, I made Dehya into an ACTUAL lioness with lion shape ears and the tail🦁. Her eyes, I removed that yellow pupil because it bothered me for some reason when I drew it. She also has battle scars and a torn right ear since life in the desert is harsh.

Her outfit I did research on what clothing is suited for the desert. While I kept her boots, I did remove the heels because they sink in the sand, and for someone who fights, that is a disadvantage. I added more Middle Eastern details to her clothing, and I actually found that long flowing sleeve clothing acts as protection from the sunlight ✨️ ☀️

I kept her gauntlet. I just simplified the look along with the necklace and gave her long pants because I felt that fit her more. I moved her vision onto her scarf, which also can act as a headscarf for protection from the sun. Her hair I removed the side braid and got rid of the yellow streaks. I went for a yellow fiery look to fit her nickname, "Flame Mane."🦁🔥
