Creative journal entry inspired by Cernunnos!
I got a Magic of I planner and I’m trying to decide how I want to use it. I really want to get more into astrology so I thought something like this would be a great tool to begin at the very least being mindful of what’s going on astrologically. I don’t plan on using it as a planner since I already got another book for that (I’ll show that beauty off once it arrives!) so I was thinking of using it more like a journal/record keeper. I feel like that would be more beneficial since I can see and track how the cosmos are impacting me. And afterwards the book can be used as reference material in my studies. I might even incorporate my tarot studies into it to create a bigger picture.
I just have to think about what exactly I want to journal about and record? Will it primarily be spiritual or magical? Or will I also include the mundane??? I feel like it’ll be better for me to leave it open to whatever I think is significant at any given time since the mundane and the spiritual not only cross paths frequently, my goal is for them to completely merge. 👍🏻
hello! i'm kai! i'm a closeted hellenic pagan, and i started a secret journal where i can dedicate myself to my practice in a safe way. this is my first entry, and my plans are to always have some sort of hymn/more formal prayer on the front and have a more personal part on the back (that part is very private haha! it's not in the pics). in the picture, i have a hand written and shorter version of the homeric hymn to Apollo, translated by rodney merrill! i want to incorporate more stickers, drawings and such to my entrys as i go! it's not perfect but im so insanely happy about how it turned out!

Y’all, I have decided to commit to making mistakes.
At least, to making mistakes in my journals! I am choosing to make tiny inconsistencies and tremendous factual errors! I am excited to pick out the wrong notebook, with the wrong paper, and the wrong pens and I’m psyched to start it upside down and backwards! I’m committing to this because doing it wrong is better than not doing it at all. If it comes out ugly and wrong, I am more than happy to get another notebook and start the whole process over again. And I’ll make sure to fill it with newer mistakes.
devotional journaling: day 8
8. In any form you choose, list any messages that you have received from them.
i don’t tend to get very coherent messages from them. often i have to think morfe abstract in order to understand what is it they’re conveying to me. but The Shadow King talks a lot about personal power, as well as power through knowledge. i get that a lot. they’ve told me to stand up for myself, and to get more discipline in my life. things which i, admittedly, am still working on. i’ve also gotten messages of support, though those aren’t as frequent.
Devotional Journaling
I cannot express the importance of daily (or weekly) devotional and gratitude journaling. Writing letters to the Gods and expressing my devotion and gratitude for them directly connects me to them in an unexplainable way. This is great way to offer devotional acts.
Some things I like to include in my journal:
• Prayers
• Poems
• Reminders of them
• Drawings
• Printed Pictures
• Letters
• Gratitude
• Pressed Flowers
• Polaroids
• Manifestations
• Affirmations
First order of business is to ask Aphrodite to bless my new devotional journal.
One of my goals for this month is to really dedicate myself to a journaling practice especially a devotional one. I believe both my relationship with the gods as well as my relationship with myself could benefit a lot from it.
Recently, I heard the term “Journal Witch” and immediately became intrigued. I liked the idea that words and writing and self-expression are all forms of magic. They hold a tremendous amount of power despite feeling so ordinary even mundane at times.
I absolutely want to explore that power more this month and grapple more with the concepts of a journal witch, devotional journaling and just journaling altogether.
Are any of you focusing on a form of journaling this month? Is journaling an important part of your practice or something you’d like to explore more?? And have you ever heard of the term “journal witch”?? What do you think of it??
