"Aaron always fell in love with her. Every time."
Destroy Me
Overall:
- This book defiantly took steps to try and redeem Warners character. It showed why he was the way he was with Juliette. In a way it made him much more human than he appeared in the first novel. The insight it gave us into him as a person was a great way to start to make him a better character. I do want to see him become better! I love a good redemption arc, and I feel like he deserves on after reading this novella.
- Rating: 4/5
reason number 45845765 why i convinced no editor touched the new trilogy.
and if they did they need to be fired because they did a shitty job.
you want to know what bad writing is?
this:
“Paris has never told either of them about their shared history. The reason he had to keep wiping their memories was because it didn’t matter how many times he reset the story or remade the introductions— Aaron always fell in love with her. Every time."
THREE FUCKING LINES LATER:
“I don’t know that they always fell in love, exactly. Paris seldom let them spend that much time alone."
THIS IS BAD WRITING.
when you can't remember what you've wrote two minutes ago.
somehow it's even worse then "wow, they have a crazy chemistry" in kenji's novella (and that was the most blatant TELLING NO SHOWING i've ever seen).
mafi really outdid herself with this one.
In the new trilogy, what if Aaron is finally ready to accept Delalieu as his family and, before he manages to articulate his feelings, Delalieu dies in order to save him?
Delalieu: appears on page
