Delja was the first wife of King Hlér and the second wife of King Valdimar.
She was a young Lady Shepard of Beluga whales when she met Hlér. He was charming and sweet, and was the first to ever try to court her. They married several weeks after their first meeting.
Delja first met Valdimar at his uncle's (Ægir) palace. Hlér was Ægir's ward after his parents died, and would often get invited to the palace of the Baltic sea. Hlér was originally betrothed to one of Ægir's nine daughters, but broke the betrothal when he married himself to Delja. Ægir accepted his decision, but Valdimar was angry with how Hlér had disregarded his cousin's feelings
Vald had not intended to seduce Delja, but she could not shake the thoughts of him after he had kissed her hand.
Delja began meeting Vald in the Norwegian sea. They were innocent meetings at first, but they both began to feel more for each other. Vald began inviting himself to North Sea palace while Hlér was away. One time while Hlér was visiting Ægir, Delja left with Vald. Since her marriage to Hlér had been an unofficial ceremony between just the two of them, she was easily able to marry Valdimar.
She did feel guilty for how she had left Hlér, and she begged Valdimar not to fight with him. Unfortunately, men don't listen. Vald and Hlér ended up in a duel. They impaled each other with javelins and have matching scars.
After that incident, the next time Vald and Hlér saw each other was at the Treaty signing and the formation of the oceanic council. Delja was already dead.
She died giving birth to her twin sons. It was later revealed to Vald by one of his healers that Delja had been poisoned.
