HA!
Bernie Sanders is the *only* candidate that *didn't* advocate for overturning the will of the people at the convention. Pass it on.
A widely under-appreciated debate moment -
Candidates were asked if the person who wins a plurality (not over 50%) in the 1st round at the Democratic Nat’l Convention should be declared the nominee. Or should a 2nd round be allowed, where superdelegates are able to cast votes and potentially alter the results in a fundamentally undemocratic fashion.
Only one candidate believes the will of the people (the winner of the 1st vote) should decide - Bernie Sanders
TL/DR
The year is 2035. Beto O’Rourke has just finished making his opening statement in the the first Democratic debate. He has spoken 17 languages and told 5 separate 3 act stories. Nobody knows what’s going on.
Anyway I cannot stress enough how overlooked Julian Castro is. He has all the specific laid out plans Warren has, but is less neoliberal white lady. I love Bernie, but he also voted for FOSTA SESTA which marginalizes sex workers. Castro has a COMPREHENSIVE progressive disability plan, pledges to have a federal task force on the deaths of black trans women, and got behind LGBT rights as a mayor before it was even legal or “cool.” When he talks about abortion, he’s the only candidate who uses gender neutral language to include all people who need abortions. Consider why he’s being overlooked (it’s racism!)
he gets it ^^^
Andrew Yang has the most nuanced, appropriate, and comprehensive view on economic growth out there. He knows wealth taxes aren’t effective. He knows the unemployment rate, which the Trump presidency so proudly touts, doesn’t properly reflect living standards because of the financial insecurity even college graduates face and the struggles of providers who have to work multiple jobs at once. He knows we need a higher minimum wage, but that then, all other wwages must raise, too. He knows unskilled labor is valuable. He knows all this and has a solution for them all! Why is he being so slept on??
Lmao are these mods going to let Bernie respond to any of the misleading BS the other candidates are throwing his way?
Business as usual
