part of the demon!jeno au
excruciating pain, excruciating heat, an excruciatingly long journey. and then it was cold.
the entity experiencing this strange sensation took a look around, trying to get a grasp on what the hell was happening to him. he was surrounded by thick woods and encased in the pitch black of the night. he could barely see the outline of some blinding white toes when he looked at the ground.
were those his toes? that’s impossible, he thought.
but they were. he willed each and every digit to move, mind racing when he saw them cooperate. he held his hands out in front of himself—they were quite nice, flawless yet manly. he touched his own chest—very firm, and let his fingers wander his facial features—a strong jaw, prominent nose, narrow eyes. he was naked from head to toe with thick black hair falling like a curtain in front of his eyes, already annoying him.
the boy brushed the hair out of his eyes and searched the area once again, now registering the faint glow of a fire up ahead. oh yes, that was fire, there was no mistaking that with him.
he set off in the direction of this beacon, not minding the twigs snapping painfully beneath his feet and the thorn branches catching on the delicate skin of his arms. it only took a minute to reach his destination, which he quickly realized was a bonfire by the ring of people surrounding it, all holding a drink of their own.
there were 5 older looking boys, all bundled up tightly in hoodies, some with ridiculous designs splayed across their faces. two of them sat away from the rest, huddled together with their hoods pulled up, and he could tell that they were the youngest. the other three were mostly separate, all seeming a bit more relaxed and nonchalant.
“i told you it was all bullshit, haechan.” said the tallest one, his voice unexpectedly deep.
the boy on the end, closest to the entity, shifted in his seat, pouting. this much be haechan. “no way. it’s real i swear.”
“oh come on, you’re just trying to scare the kids.” came a very melodic voice.
at this comment, the two who sat away from the group raised their voices in protest against their supposed fear.
“no, no i promise that the books said this was supposed to work. especially since it’s halloween! we summon this thing from hell and we all get a wish... if it doesn’t kill us first.” haechan added that last part almost under his breath but it was loud enough to cause an annoyed uproar amongst the small group.
the thing hiding in the shadows took this opportunity to step into view, realizing now how he had ended up here—free.
“so you’re the ones who’ve summoned me?”
the thing was surprised at how deep his own voice was, but kept a poker face as each boy halted their angry shouting and turned in his direction. needless to say, they were a bit more than startled.
“bro why are you naked?” asked the tallest one, not so phased.
“i don’t know how this works any more than you do, giraffe neck.”
the tension amongst the friends died down slightly as they all laughed at his expense.
but neither boy was amused.
