Majora laughed again while keeping his head high in the ceiling’s darkness. The sharp fingered hand slowly rose upwards from his side towards Hyrule. The touch was almost mockingly gently but the Traveler shivered and shut his eyes while finally realizing what he had caused by his mocking.
“Get your hands off them!” Time snarled while drawing his Biggoron Sword out. He prayed his leg would hold on a while longer as he began to move towards his boys and the Demon.
Majora chuckled cruelly and nodded. “Fine. No hands then.” He struck his arm straight with fast and sharp movement. Once pointing towards the wall the arm began to morph. Soon enough there was no hand with sharp claws but a thick and sharp ending tentacle. “How about this then?” He mused and slashed swiftly diagonally.
Hyrule screamed when the attack struck. Time stared horrified as that one hit tore his boy into two. The half-fairy’s voice was quieted down into a whimper and rough flinch as half of him fell limply into the ground with sickening splat. The Demon chuckled wickedly while feeling entirely pleased with his work.
“YOU BASTARD!” Time roared in rage and ran. He kept the Nayru’s Love strong enough to keep moving. He knew he wouldn’t get past the unseen barrier but his weapons did. All he needed was one good swing with his Biggoron Sword and maybe, just maybe, he could strike Majora away from his remaining boy.
The Chain’s leader gritted his teeth as he was forced to balance himself with the broken leg when he finally swung the heavy blade. He gasped in shock as the sword didn’t go through the unseen blockage this time around but struck roughly into it. He stumbled backwards by the unexpected impact.
Time gave out a growled scream as his leg gave up on him and he crashed once again into the floor. The situation had taken him off guard and dropped his notion away from upholding the Nayru’s Love magic. That had brought back the very fact that his leg was utterly useless.
The one eyed male growled like a ferocious wolf as he forced the magic back on and stood up again. He screamed in rage as he swung the blade again and again at the unseen blockage. It made no difference but he didn’t stop his rampage.
“Your fault!”
Time stumbled in shock and snapped his gaze up into Sky. He wished to see the Chosen Hero glare at Majora but that rough gaze was locked into him. He gulped and slumped as he felt his boy’s hatred and despise on full force from the look he was being given.
“This is all your fault.” Sky snarled cruelly while glaring at his leader. “If it wasn’t for you, we wouldn’t be in here. If it wasn’t for you, none of the others would’ve died!” He stated out what Time already considered as truths.
“You’re a failure! A loser.” The Skyloftian barked out roughly. “I’m disgusted to have someone like you as one of the legendary Heroes! You don’t belong with us!” He screamed with hatred strong within his voice.
Time flinched roughly and gasped in pain as his leg crumbled from beneath him. He growled, nearly whimpered as he fell to the floor. He could feel the almost sinister gaze of his boy in him. He trembled and hid his face into his hand as he broke down.
Sky scoffed and shook his head. “What a disgrace you are. Broke the timeline. Left two in ruins. You’re stupid for never having thought twice.” He pointed out firmly before snorting: “Worthless piece of shit. That’s all you are.”
Majora laughed and smirked. “Truth hurts, doesn’t it?” He mocked wickedly while watching how simple words from the last boy of Time’s shattered the Hero of Time so very cruelly.
Time slowly raised his gaze up into the Demon. “Leave. Him. Alone.” He snarled while glaring at his second quest’s main enemy.
“Wouldn’t you be better off without this brat?” Majora mocked while having turned his tentacle back into sharp fingered hand. The Chosen Hero was shivering underneath the touch but his hateful gaze was in Time.
“He might hate me but I still care about him.” Time replied while trying to figure out a way to attack the Demon.
“That’s all I needed to know.” Majora smirked and swiftly slashed with his sharp clawed hand.
“NO!” The Chain’s leader screamed in terror and shock as the four sharp fingers of Majora’s cut deeply through Sky’s face. Time stared horrified at his two last boys whom now hang from the chains dead. If he had been standing, he would’ve fallen to his knees. “You… Y-you…” He started with wavering voice before snarling in pure rage. “YOU FUCKING BASTARD!! I’M GOING TO RIP YOU TO PIECES, YOU ASSHOLE!!”
Time screamed and unconsciously brought back the Nayru’s Love to move. He sprang to his feet and struck harder than ever before at the unseen blockage. Majora gasped in shock as his creation came crashing down by that one extremely powerful swing. The Demon barely had time to avoid the slash before the blade was already coming at him again.
The one eyed male was screaming and crying as he fiercely attacked again and again. Majora kept avoiding the attacks while slowly calming down. His opponent was blinded by pure rage and grief. His strikes weren’t thought or planned even one bit. All he needed to do was to keep avoiding and wait for the Hero of Time to wear himself out. After that he could once again do as he wished with his enemy.
It took bit longer than what Majora anticipated but eventually Time just barely stood while panting hard and trembling out of exhaustion. The Demon smirked while waiting for the blade to slip out of his opponent’s hands. Yet, instead of that, the one eyed male shakily sheathed the blade while smirking.
Time reached into his pouch and picked one specific mask. He had already queried for the rights and gained a firm nod from the Deity. It was bit odd that Fierce didn’t answer to him by words but he didn’t think about it while just wanting to kill Majora in the cruelest way possible.
“Recognizing this one?” The Chain’s leader queried while showing the Fierce Deity mask. When Majora recoiled backwards and stared wide-eyed at the shown object, Time’s smirk widened while getting crueler. “Have fun facing your worst nightmare.” He half whispered before putting the mask on and screaming as the transformation happened.
“What the fuck is that thing?!” Wild suddenly screamed as the Temple’s keeper finally showed up.
“Time clearly knows the creature.” Legend pointed out while glaring absolutely the sharpest daggers he could muster into the odd being of red, yellow, blue, green and violet.
The Champion took another picture and bit jumped when his Slate gave a clear sound of having new information within it. “We’re about to know soon!” He exclaimed while swiftly sharing the screen into third part so they could keep check on the situation as well as of the map. He swiftly went through the images of the monsters until he found the newest creature in his folder.
“Majora.” Sky read from beneath the picture. The others shrugged while glancing at each other in check of if anyone recognized the name. As no-one other than Time seemed to know the Temple’s keeper, the master archer opened the info part of the creature and began to read:
“Majora (Deity / Demon)
Majora was said to be a twin brother to Fierce Deity. As Fierce Deity is the God of Protection, Majora Deity is the God of Destruction. Even though brothers, the God of Protection did the ultimate action and turned the God of Destruction into a mask and hid him well from anyone seeking for his power. God of Destruction had his followers whom deceived the God of Protection and returned the favor by turning him into a mask too.
Majora’s Mask was eventually found by an ordinary man whom called himself as the Happy Mask Salesman. He understood the dangers the mask possessed and did his best to keep it safe from wrong hands. Majora, having been found, had no intentions of staying as he was. Yet, the Happy Mask Salesman was too aware of the danger to end up possessed by the mask. Majora needed someone far more innocent and pure at heart.
While traveling through the lands of Termina, the—“
“Termina!” Seven Heroes suddenly shouted and interrupted Wild’s reading. “That’s the lands Time saved during his second quest!” Wind exclaimed shocked.
“Well, we certainly found the one at fault.” Warriors growled while not liking at all about what was happening within the Temple.
“Can I continue?” Wild inquired bit indignantly.
“I’m not sure we should check more.” Twilight worried while feeling contradicted. He wanted to know more but then again he felt like it was Time’s right to explain things by himself. “It is about Time’s life we’re going to find out about.” He reminded while glancing around his brothers.
“It is about Time’s past but to some of us it is also legends told from generation to generation.” Four countered while feeling equally uncertain of what was the right decision to make.
“That’s bit rough when the guy’s entirely alive and traveling with us.” Legend partly snapped but it was brought out only by worry and fear for their leader’s safety and wellbeing.
“I can’t deny of being curious. And Time doesn’t really talk about his second quest even when we ask about it.” Hyrule pointed out while bit slumping and giving sheepish expression.
“I’m sure there’s actually a very good reason for that.” Twilight stated out bit rougher than what he meant to.
“Nonetheless, that’s one vengeful Deity.” Sky growled while knowing how Demise had found a way to keep tormenting those the Chosen Hero now called as his brothers.
“Yeah.” Wild half whispered while the others simply nodded. “While Ganon hates all of us, that asshole’s only going after Time.” The words came out as a growl.
“It certainly would come after each of us if we had a chance to tear it apart for what it’s doing to Sprite.” Warriors snarled while hoping the Demon felt his rage as he glared at it through that screen of Wild’s Slate.
“Maybe then we should get to know more about the enemy if we ever get that chance?” Wild suggested while raising an eyebrow. The Captain glanced around at the way too tempting way of explaining why they’d know more about his little brother’s second quest than what Time had so far given out. The uncertain nods eventually got him to give the rights to keep reading.
“While traveling through the lands of Termina, the Happy Mask Salesman was jumped by the local Skull Kid. The eternally young being Child of the Forest was childish and mischievous but the species never meant any harm in any of way. Yet, this was exactly what Majora’s Mask needed and he lured the young one to the mask. Skull Kid never had a chance against the Demon’s possession and the mask was on his face despite his desperate attempts to fight against it.
With a body and life form overtaken, Majora fled the scene to cause the destruction he was the God of. The mischief of Skull Kid became cruel and harmful. Curses were placed upon all continents of the lands. People suffered in many ways. And yet, most attempted to deny what they were seeing.
Termina was in luck as the young Hero of Time, aged ten but seen far too much in his life despite of his young age, came to the area in search of a lost friend. Majora found a new toy to play with through him and jumped him as Skull Kid had jumped the Happy Mask Salesman.
Cursed into the form of a Deku Scrub, the form taken from close by unfortunate soul whom the spell killed, the Hero of Time had no other choice than to embark on another quest. Besides this cruelty, the Ocarina of Time was stolen from his hold and his trusty steed Epona had been scared away. He had more than one worry to deal with.
When the Hero of Time finally, after three days from his arrival, faced Majora, he wasn’t capable of defeating him. The Goddess of Time intervened and turned those three days into a loop with the Song of Time.
Majora attempted countless different plans to both torment and to kill the young Hero. Yet, with the Goddess of Time aiding the Hero of Time with his quest as well as she could, the Demon’s plans fell as apart as everyone’s memory of the happenings did. She had not realized how long it would take to fully get everything sorted out and how the constantly getting forgotten by the people of Termina would affect the young Hero of Time whom had already done time traveling by then.
After those countless restarts of the time loop and having awakened the Guardian Deities, the Four Giants of Termina, the Hero of Time finally was capable of facing Majora. Alas, the fight did not go well as he refused to use a powerful mask given to him by one of the Moon Children. The simple reason for this refusal of using the new mask was the lack of acceptance from the one whose soul was trapped into the said mask.
Several more time loops through, several more times refusing to let the moon to crash and Fierce Deity finally gave the Hero of Time the rights to use his mask. Together they defeated Majora and set the Skull Kid, as well as whole Termina, free from the God of Destruction’s hold. Yet, the God of Protection, realizing how strong and dangerous his brother was even as a mask, purified the mask of his brother’s existence with the Hero of Time’s aid. The Hero, now titled twice, was unaware of what the Demon was to the God of Protection as he gave his Light Magic into the usage of the God of Protection to be rid of the one at fault of the danger of the world’s destruction.
Majora, even though defeated, is a Deity, a God, and hence never truly gone. This is why the Demons across time are unconsciously aware of each other’s existence. They do not get full knowledge of how things have gone to their counterparts but they do get strong feelings and some certain knowledge from one another. And hence, the Hero of Time is the one each of them are searching for. They know of his triumph over one of them and hence are up for destroying him in any way possible.”
As Wild read the legend connected into Majora, he and his brothers felt the cold shivers run down their backs more often than not. The Champion was grateful that he didn’t need to hold the Slate as he was certain he would’ve dropped the device from his sweaty hands. And yet, as he was certain his brothers felt it too, he was nearly shivering from cold.
“Fierce Deity…” Warriors half whispered and gulped once. “The markings Sprite has on his face… Those are half of Fierce Deity’s markings.”
The rest of the Chain was rendered silent by that line. They gulped when they recalled Time’s words back when they had gone through the masks. “’Besides, with a legend like that, I’d be far more afraid of what destroyed the demon.’” Legend quoted and gulped. “T-that’s what Time said. A-as well as ‘I knew a salesman who coveted it.’”
“Oh Goddesses!” Wild exclaimed in shock. “He was talking about the mask I showed! That freaky one with spikes and bright colors! T-that… That’s the one he’s fighting against?!”
Wind snorted and grinned. “Time was talking about himself when he pointed to be more afraid of who destroyed the Demon.” He pointed out triumphantly. “Damn, he’s awesome!”
“Well, our awesome oldest brother has just seen all eight of us die.” Four deadpanned as he flinched about what was going on within the Temple. “Is that the God of Protection’s mask?”
“Yeah, it is.” Warriors confirmed and gulped once. “Sprite will certainly make Majora pay for what he’s done. And you seven are going to see Fierce Deity in action.” He stated out while the clammy feeling of fear and worry returned even stronger than what it had been as Wild gave out Majora’s past.
As the Fierce Deity’s body appeared and his full existence was brought to life, Time willingly moved to back of their shared mind. He needed the Deity’s body as his own wasn’t capable of doing as needed. If he hadn’t had a leg that was so thoroughly in smithereens, being exhausted both mentally and physically and overtaken by his own feelings of grief, rage and hatred, he could’ve taken Majora on as himself too. But as things were the way they were, he couldn’t beat the one at the fault of his losses.
The Chain’s leader could feel the God of Protection’s worry towards him but he couldn’t care less. Right now he simply gave his knowledge, abilities and life to Fierce to use. All he wanted was to see Majora torn apart and suffering. Yet, at the same time he made a choice he knew the Deity would never accept but which seemed entirely as the right decision. But, for now, he kept that thought to himself while simply concentrating into the battle that was up for beginning.
The Demon whom had tormented Termina in one era, stared nearly terrified at the Deity before him. The white haired, tall and facial marked being slowly raised his hands up and called the Double Helix into his usage. “You are not going anywhere.” Fierce growled as his gaze of those white eyes locked into Majora.
Suddenly, while using what his closest friend had, Fierce brought out several different ways to prevent the Demon from escaping the room. The whole area flashed with blue as Nayru’s Love was brought to trap the two fighters into there. Flames rose up right behind the protective magic. The fire covered the walls as hot as the lava of the Death Mountain. The ceiling and the floor outside the see-through bluish shield were covered with thick layer of hard to break ice.
Majora, for first time in his life, trembled with fear as he understood how trapped he was. Unlike the Deity before him, he had no other weapons than his morphing limbs. And he wasn’t certain those were strong enough against his enraged brother.
“Come on, brother, can’t we talk this through?” Majora queried with surprisingly calm and gentle voice.
“You are the God of Destruction, Majora, and I am the God of Protection. Do the math and see what the outcome of those titles is.” Fierce answered while sheathing his sword. He knew his dear friend was right now needing something far more crueler and personal than the heavy and powerful blade.
Majora gulped at the hidden threat within the Deity’s words. Yet, he shrieked when Fierce suddenly dashed forward to attack. For once, the Demon acted out of instinct without thinking.
Majora split his hands with swift action so he had four limbs to work with. The left upper arm ended into five sharp fingers while the lower limb was a tentacle that ended into a sharp blade. The right side was similar but the hand and tentacle were opposite way. He crossed his arms over his body as defense while he sent the tentacles towards his attacker.
Fierce snorted and moved to side to avoid other one of the blades. The other one he ducked beneath and grabbed the tentacle. He struck the thing roughly against his knee and got Majora to scream in pain. While being unable to react for that short precious moment, the Deity took advantage of the situation. He forcefully moved the tentacle in swift actions and struck the blade through Majora’s side from front.
Majora screamed again and grabbed the Deity from his shoulders. Yet, before he could slam his head into Fierce, the God of Protection already reacted. The fist struck cruelly into the Demon’s face and got him to recoil backwards while letting go of him.
The punches rained down onto Majora’s face and torso hard, cruel and fast. The Demon was backed into the corner of the room for the Deity to have even better chance of delivering his punishment. He brought in the kicks and did his best to break the carnival colored body’s bones.
Majora, desperate to get away, brought the tentacles close to his body and struck outwards. Fierce gasped as the strike screeched against his armor and forced him to stumble backwards. The next few strikes landed into the silvery plates with precision and gave the Demon the room to move even more.
Fierce snorted as he realized that Majora hadn’t yet done actual damage into him. It only brought out the very fact of how scared the Demon was of him. It was a saddening thing to understand as he could still recall how close they had once been. All he could blame for the change of Majora’s ways was none other than Demise. The God of Darkness had corrupted the God of Destruction.
Despite his title, Majora hadn’t always been evil. There had been a time when the God of Protection and the God of Destruction had been in balance. They both had had their followers and together they had aided other Deities in keeping everything under control. They had had an agreement of the boundaries of what they could do and how far they could go with their work.
When the Demon God Demise had risen to start a war over the Triforce and the wish to rule over the world, the two Deities had fought side by side. One fought to protect and the other fought to cause as much of destruction among the beasts that threatened the peaceful lands.
Demise saw his chance when he realized the similarity within his creations and the God of Destruction. He spoke in the wind while pointing his words to Majora. The rights of causing havoc as much and as roughly as he wished was tempting. And soon the Malice within the Demon God spread into the God of Destruction and clouded his mind of rightness.
Fierce was unable to save his brother and soon they were in different sides of the war. That what he needed to do to his own brother killed him from inside. And yet, he hadn’t had choice in the matter. If he hadn’t stopped Majora, the war would’ve kept going on until nothing else than the monsters survived in the desolated world.
And now, knowing that this Temple was only the beginning of Majora’s reign, he had no other choice than to stop him again. He had done it once with the Hero of Time back in Termina in different era. He could do it again in here. Yet, when this quest of the nine Heroes had come forth and he realized how the portals kept throwing them from timeline and era into another while jumping between all times, a wish and hope slowly began to grow within him.
The Fierce Deity hoped that the portals could bring him into the start of the Divine War and give him a chance to save Majora from being corrupted for he really wished there was such timeline and era where it was a possible situation.
Time, while being more on a free ride in their shared body, finally got slight insight into his friend’s past. It was shocking to realize what kind of bond was between these two beings whom were so different from one another. “He’s your brother.” He whispered the statement. “And you never told me…”
“I am sure you understand why I did not wish you to know.” Fierce replied sorrowfully in the mind he shared with his mask’s keeper.
Time nodded but he couldn’t help but feel torn between two different wishes. In one hand, he really wanted to make Majora suffer, hear him scream in agony and watch him writhe before him. And yet, in the other hand, he wanted to give Fierce a chance to make things right and handle things with as little of harm as possible.
The one eyed male slumped as he realized the damage they had already created into the Demon whom once had been a Deity. “Let me into the charge. Please?” He called while keeping his plan from the God of Protection’s notion.
Fierce nodded and moved back while Time passed him into the front of their shared mind. It was simple change of giving the control of the body and actions to the other one. They still shared everything else from body to knowledge and abilities. “I’m doing this for you, Fierce.”
The Deity knew how much it meant to Time to take revenge of what had happened in the Temple so the words got him to frown. When the Hero of Time made the moves he had once chosen for full strengthened Light Magic strike, Fierce wasn’t certain of what he wanted. Yet, he didn’t stop his friend as he reached the end of his moves and struck on full power.
Time screamed as he struck his hands into the floor and let the Light Magic spread. He had never struck it with this strength before while drawing most of it from Fierce. The brightness of the magic was blinding and Majora screamed before the strike even hit into him.
By the time the Light Magic faded in the room, the one eyed male was ready to collapse. Fierce took hold of him and held him to his feet. As they took a look around, the Demon was gone and his mask was slowly dissipating in the floor.
The Deity moved next to his friend to keep a better check on him while taking the control of their shared body back. He moved close to the Majora’s Mask with a sorrowful look on his face. “Goodbye once again, my brother. May you rest in peace.” He whispered quietly and waited until the mask was fully gone before letting go of the three magics in the room.
Time raised his gaze up into the duo chained to a wall. Hyrule was having entirely furious look on his face while even Sky looked like he was hating the situation. “Hyrule, please, don’t.” The Chain’s leader begged with weak voice. “I can…” He gulped while gritting his teeth as he forced himself to stand straighter. “I can take it.”
“No, you can’t.” Hyrule stated out firmly. His gaze was desperately searching through the whole room. “SHOW YOURSELF, YOU COWARD!” He screamed out while really loathing enemies that attacked without being seen. Yet, he couldn’t deny the fact that he and his brothers used the same method whenever they had the chance.
“Hyrule, stop, please.” Time pleaded desperately.
“No.” Hyrule growled while glaring as he searched for the enemy. “I’m sick of this.” Eventually he raised his gaze up into the dark ceiling without better place to throw his glare into. “You’re a coward! Hiding behind invisibility! Throwing in cruel situations! Blaming one for things he couldn’t prevent!” The Traveler started with cold voice.
“Hyrule, please!” Time half shouted. “You’re just getting yourself and Sky killed!”
“Go on, Hero of Hyrule. Let that bastard hear it.” Sky coaxed with a smirk.
The half-fairy yanked on the chains roughly. They clanked but didn’t give any of more room than what was already in his usage. “What the fuck do you have against the Hero of Time to shatter him like this?! You’re an absolute coward to not face him as you are!” He shouted before grinning and beginning to laugh. “Oh, you’re scared.” He pointed out almost gleefully.
“Hyrule, you really should stop talking…” Time warned while feeling the atmosphere in the room changing. The Temple’s keeper was getting seriously pissed about what was being shouted.
Hyrule ignored his leader’s plea and kept going: “You’re scared because you know he can beat you up. This is the only way you can win. Tear him apart and get him to torture himself by your cruel commands. Are you really not going to face him and finish what you started by him knowing who took him down?”
“Hyrule, please, stop.” The one eyed male begged while crying out of fear. He couldn’t bear the thought of losing the last two boys of his. “Please, I’m begging of you!”
But Hyrule was far from stopping. He had always been the kind one with bit of mischievousness within him. He finally had enough of staying silent. He glanced once at Sky whom simply nodded in agreement.
The Traveler chuckled and shook his head. “In fact, I’ve never heard of a Boss of a Temple that would’ve been scared to face his challenger. Have you, Sky?”
“Nope, never heard of such.” The Chosen Hero replied calmly with a smirk. “In fact, they’ve always stayed behind a locked door. Waiting. Usually even alone.”
“Sounds like someone failed to read the guidebook of how to be a good Temple Boss.” Hyrule snorted out.
Sky nodded eagerly. “Oh yeah. Totally failing on all parts.”
“Boys, stop, please.” Time pleaded while looking at the duo. “Hyrule, this isn’t like you! And Sky… Please, stop encouraging him.” He reminded and requested but he knew his words were going to deaf ears.
“So, let’s sum it up.” The half-fairy mused with an evil grin. “No Boss Key. Or did you find one, Sky?” He started and the Skyloftian shook his head. “I doubt Time got it either and the rest are gone so, yeah, no key.” He nodded firmly while ignoring the flinch and sickening look on his leader’s face. “Being coward by not showing up. Keeping prisoners and just tormenting the one whom came to face the boss. Being afraid of the one challenging the boss.”
Time slumped and let his ears droop while hiding his face into his hand as he cried. He knew he had once again failed his boys. He couldn’t get Hyrule to shut up and Sky was cheering the half-fairy on. It was only matter of time before the Temple’s keeper would have enough of listening to be mocked like this.
“You insolent fools!” The words echoed roughly around the room.
“Oooh, I think we hit a never there!” Sky nearly cooed and laughed at the menacing growl the Temple’s keeper was making.
Time couldn’t help but feel cold dread lodge into his chest. He begged silently that his boys would fall silent already. “Please… Don’t hurt them…” He whispered while knowing he was powerless to do a thing if the Temple’s keeper chose to do something to his two remaining boys.
Suddenly the Temple’s keeper came into sight. The colors of red, blue, yellow, green and violet created all kinds of odd lines and areas like someone in carnival costume. The Chain’s leader’s eye widened in shock and recognition. “YOU!” He screamed out before already glaring fiercely at the being’s back.
