PEROID POOH
Sometimes we can get so frustrated by the news and what’s going on and there’s this battle going on in ourselves. Do we become apathetic? Do we become engaged? Do we just talk about it, or do we do something? by John Legend
Deportion Of Up To 200 Kenyan Students From Finland Halted
Deportion Of Up To 200 Kenyan Students From Finland Halted A crisis over a threat to deport up to 200 Kenyan students in Finland at the end of March has been narrowly avoided. However, it raises ethical questions over the handling of Finland’s export education scheme. Additionally, county authorities in Kenya have allegedly been dishonest partners. The problem was resolved after outstanding fees…

A deportation isn’t a “departure” from the U.S. that forfeits an immigrant’s right to appeal the removal order, a federal appeals court ruled Friday.
Facing deportation after more than two decades here, undocumented mom Juana Luz Tobar Ortega went into sanctuary at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Greensboro, North Carolina. Nearly two years later, she’s still there. “To keep busy, Ortega uses her...
Eduard needs your signature
I know this is probably not gonna help because I don’t have a lot of followers, but I wanted to share with you shortly why you should sign this petition.
Eduard Kechyan is an autistic ‘refugee’ who’s been in The Netherlands for most of his life. He speaks Dutch better than his native language, and he’s gone through a whole school career. This week, all high school students pick up their diploma, but Eduard won’t, even if he rightfully deserves it. Eduard, with his family, has been sent back to Armenia, where his family comes from. This 17 year old and autistic boy worked real hard for his diploma, but he won’t be getting it because he’s been deported. Instead, he will be forced to join the army. If this petition makes 40.000 signatures, the government will have to reconsider the situation. I know it’s a long shot, but we’re already at 13.000, so I know we can do this!
To sign the petition, follow this link. Because the website is in Dutch, I will explain to you how to sign. 1. Scroll down and click ‘Teken de Petitie!’ 2. On the right column, fill in your details. ‘Naam’ requires your name (just your first name will do), ‘emailadres’ requires any email address (1 email address equals 1 signature, so you can sign several times), ‘Woonplaats’ requires the city you live in. 3. Checking the box below is NOT neccessary. If you check the box, your name and city will show along with your sign, but if you wish to keep this private, just don’t check the box. 4. Click “Ja, ik onderteken deze petitie”. 5. Go to your e-mail, and confirm the link you’ve been sent. This might take a few minutes. Once you’ve clicked the link, you’ve signed the petition.
Feel free to shoot me a message if you can’t figure it out, or if you have any questions or comments. Lastly, should you doubt the validity of this petition, and the story that it stands for, please do contact me. I know the school this boy went to, and have been inspired to make this post because my former teacher keeps sharing it on Facebook; he is/was Eduard’s personal mentor in school.
Thanks for your sign / reblog.
