Depowered?

Ohman, this is an OLD draft that was a few lines I let drop out of my brain and picked at off n on. Originally it was going to be sad, de-powered and retired Homelander shopping in a grocery store internally agonizing about all he lost but instead turned into Ryan being his anchor and a distraction. I have no idea how to end it and I've just been letting it simmer in my draft pile. TBH, I could slap it up as is but I keep hoping I'll gain some inspo to turn it into something properly heart wrenching or wholesome. Maybe with S4 and all the Homelander / Ryan interactions will kickstart my imagination for those two.

Ben Reilly as Spider-Man is having a hard time fighting Taskmaster and Whiplash who were working as Mayor Kingpin’s secret police. Once Ben gets collared, Taskmaster kicks him out of the building and he falls to his doom.

The nurse comes up to him, unbuckling him from the chair. Kai collapsed as the support fell free, and he clung to the nurse. Desperate for anything warmth and comfort. He didn’t even notice that they took him to a room nearby until he was separated from them. Placed onto a bed in the corner in a dimly lit room, the nurse dumped him on it and left him alone. Shivering and shaking, he tried to move under the covers, freezing to his core.

He wasn't sure if he would ever stop shivering. Thankfully the nurse came back with blankets and even a heating pad. But nothing made him feel warm. He was buried in blankets, yet still shivering like a leaf as his stomach rolled and his lungs ached. Everything ached and hurt, actually, and his head felt as if it would split open. The only sort of relief he got was when the nurse held him again, but then they started shivering as well, and they had to let him go. Leaving him to shiver on the heating pad, buried under a mountain of blankets, never feeling warmer. If anything, he felt colder.

Hearing the door again, he started shaking even harder, but it wasn’t because of how freezing he was. As the doctor who spent the last hour putting out his fire stalked into the room, Kai shrank away as the doctor looked down at him, frowning as he threw off the blankets. Kai struggled to sit up, trying to move away from the doctor invading more into his space. Trembling harder as the combination of fear and freezing made him vibrate in anxiety.

“Show me,” He barked, and suddenly the nurse was next to him, holding him again. Kai went rigid in surprise but quickly relaxed into the warmth of the nurse. The subtle heat he could feel at their core made him relax. His shivering started to settle down as he relaxed more into the embrace as the relief of warmth overtook the instinct to run.

Their hug continued until the nurse started to shiver, their warmth vanishing as they let go. Prying Kai off of them as he didn’t want the hug to end. “No~” He whispered as he was separated from their warmth, and immediately started to shiver again, yet not as violently as before.

“Fascinating.” The doctor muttered, getting close to his face, Kai leaned back until he hit the wall. Refusing to make eye contact as the doctor continued to mutter under his breath. “Subject one didn’t have any reaction like this. . . Hmmm. I wonder. . .” He muttered and the doctor pulled a zippo from his pocket, it looked old and well worn as he flipped open the lid and clicked alive a flame.

Kai immediately became enraptured by the tiny flame. He had always been drawn to fire, being the master of fire it was a part of his nature. Yet he had never had such tunnel vision as he looked at the small flame dance in the doctor's hand. He could feel its small soul as it danced, he could almost feel its warmth as he reached for it. Yet the doctor pulled it away, keeping the flame at a distance, continuing to mutter under his breath the entire time. He continued to observe him as he reached for the flame with every ounce of strength he had left.

Then just as suddenly the flame sparked to life, it was snuffed out as the doctor closed the lid. Kai immediately deflated and whined at the loss. The doctor hummed again as he turned to the nurse. “Stay with him until he returns to the baseline. But be careful, we are not sure yet what subject two may be capable of, even in his weakened state.”

“Yes doctor,” the red masked nurse replied as they wrapped Kai up again in the blankets. Treating him as if he was radioactive as they wrapped him in a thick cocoon of blankets, and began to set up and connect him to a few different machines. Kai frowned as the nurse gently attached sticky pads to his face and neck, making the machines come to life as they began to beep and glow.

“Am I still going to have lunch with Jay?” He asked, still shivering and aching all over. He watched as the red masked nurse's eyes scrunch up in concern.

“I'm sorry, but until you feel better, you’re going to be on observation.” Kai groaned and weakly squirmed in his blanket cocoon at those words. “I know, it sucks. But you’re ill, and we can't risk your health for a get-together.”

"Please?"

"I'm sorry Kai, doctors orders."

So season four Killer Frost really sucks in fights. I guess cure that didn’t really work just cured the badass parts of Killer Frost because that’s all gone. First, she can’t even put up a decent fight Amulet and now she so slow at freezing Nazis Oliver that he fired some kind purse at her. What happened to the bad bitch who was staking across the city in amazing display of power, and mastery of her powers. She staking across the city, over and around building with Flash chasing her and she was still firing ice stikes at Tracy. Then she blasted ice at Cisco and Barry took the hint for him at the last second. Seriously the way she used her powers there showed so much power and ability to use them.

Also, she has strong ice blasting abilities like when she got Savitar, or when she got Black Flash or attacked Cisco in woods, Her aim is dead on the only thing that saves Cisco, Tracy and others are someone physically stopping the ice from hitting them seconds before impact. Her misty breath could also be useful like a smaller blast of Kara’s cold breath.

Seriously why isn’t Killer Frost killing when it comes to Nazis. Seriously Nazis Oliver Queen is attacking Earth with an invention force. Go for it kill as many as you can no moral issues here.
