Habit stacking is using a usual habit to trigger the memory of another. I decided to write about it because I had a comical experience yesterday. My trigger to have lunch is finishing my morning rounds at work. So what happened was, I received a call from a junior doctor while having lunch and I was about to tell her off for disturbing me during lunch hours when I glanced at my clock and realized that it was only 11.30 in the morning. Since weekend rounds are usually shorter than weekday rounds, I finished early and automatically did the usual next thing, which is to have lunch!😂 I’ve mentioned before that I have no ability to tell when I’m hungry so my lunch is basically scheduled in with my daily routines. It was so automatic that I didn’t even realize that I had eaten lunch so early despite just having breakfast at 9.30am, so I definitely did not do it cause I was hungry😂.
