🔵 Here’s a little BLUESDAY inspiration from our European art collection, currently on view in Infinite Blue.
Impressionist painter Gustave Caillebotte identified the small town of Argenteuil as an ideal modern landscape where nature’s blue skies and rivers mingled harmoniously with heavy industry—represented here in the town’s new concrete and iron railroad bridge spanning the Seine. In 1851 the Paris/Saint-Germain-en-Laye railway line came to Argenteuil, bringing with it thousands of middle-class tourists from the French capital in under twenty-five minutes. Developers and industrialists followed, transforming the suburb into the region’s most popular boating and sailing destination.
Gustave Caillebotte (French, 1848-1894). The Seine and the Railroad Bridge at Argenteuil (La Seine et le pont du chemin de fer d'Argenteuil), 1885 or 1887. Oil on canvas. Brooklyn Museum, Gift of The Arthur M. Sackler Foundation, 1999.76.1

Life, as I see it, is not a location, but a journey. Even the man who most feels himself "settled" is not settled—he is probably sagging back. Everything is in flux, and was meant to be. Life flows. We may live at the same number of the street, but it is never the same man who lives there.

I really miss you!

(June 2016) The moment I learned about the fitness/yoga retreat I knew that I wanted to be part of it: Thursday to Sunday – Mallorca, 14 women, remote location with 3 activities per day👍🏽. Plus believe it or not,I have never been on Mallorca before even so being a German. Actually Thursday I take the liberty to claim 4 activities: getting up before 4 in the morning to be ready for the taxi…
