GENERAL INFO

The event will take place between 6th September and 30th October. Posting time is 31st of October at your local reset time.

There are no form applications and this is not a zine. Simply follow the prompt and post on posting day using our hashtag #DAEFOTL2025

Contributors may submit one or more halloween/fall-themed pieces showcasing any or all of their favorite NPCs, OCs, portraits, scenes, or environments from the game.

We encourage all forms of art: traditional, digital, cosplay, music and writing. EVERYONE is welcome to join the fun!

Please remember, YOUR WORK MUST BE RATED T FOR TEEN. This is for the entire Destiny community after all.

FORMAT

Open format. Choose whatever size and resolution you are comfortable with, just be sure to Glaze or protect your work before posting.

Written works will have a text background provided for posting in image format (Click me!). Otherwise, the tag on AO3 or elsewhere will work too.

We ask that you WAIT until reset time on October 31st to post your piece(s) publicly. This encourages community posting and prevents spam bots from taking the hashtag we want to use.

What does it mean to be a guardian?:

MJ-2: Being a guardian means, putting yourself on the line, no matter the challenges, being the best or…the worst version of yourself you can be with this life were given…no matter the past

Martyr: It means to be Shield of Innocent, We fall so we block blows from Foes that wish hurt the innocent, the ones that can not fight, We are the walls of The Last City.

Any tips for naming a Hive OC?

I’m in the planning phase for a Destiny fic right now and it will eventually feature a Hive Guardian, specifically a Brood Queen, and wanted tips for naming one. I’m a big fan of the Hive and their lore just don’t know much about their naming conventions.

Their first death was shortly after resurrection, an Eliksni sniper and a lucky shot while exploring the Cosmodrome wall. They had just found their first weapon, a battered old Khovostov rifle, when from across the gap, a wire rifle shot scattered circuitry and Alkahest across the rusted walkway as it blew a hole in the new light Exo’s head.

Years later, following the collapse of the great houses, the sniper would find work out in the Tangled Shore. He would make a name for himself as one of the Spider’s most skilled marksman serving aboard his private ketch. During the campaign against the Old Crews, he would meet this light bearer again, now captain of his crew.

Halsiks would never learn that he was the first to kill the famed Young Wolf. Nor would he learn that he had spent a disproportionately long period of time at the top of the Young Wolf’s grudge list as a result of that death. For as it turns out, from the moment that their ghost told told them of their ability to continuously return from the dead, they had wanted their first death to be something dramatic, like a Phoenix rising from ashes amidst a horde of enemies.

That their first death was instead something mundane and boring was a source of petty frustration matched only by that meeting with a taken phalanx in the ruins of an old colony ship.

"Apollo’s shoulders slumped. He could stagger back down and become yet another casualty of the Great Disaster. Or he could go back to his empty apartment in the city and wallow for the rest of his life. Neither sounded appealing. But Apollo was dying anyway. Right now, he was just doing it slow." After the Great Disaster took Apollo's partner, Percy, and left him stranded in the Hellmouth for weeks, Apollo struggles with pulling himself out of that pit of trauma and grief. Until one day he decides he's had enough and ventures back down into the Pit to find the monster that killed Percy. Alone. At least, he'd like it to be a solo mission. The Titan Wren-6 seems determined to not let him go alone, and Apollo reluctantly acquiesces. Nothing matters as long as the monster dies, right?
