I hear the laughter

but none of it lands

I’m standing in the center

with invisible hands

Faces blur together

like a watercolor bloom

I’m here with everybody

and still alone in the room

I drift through conversations

like smoke that never stays

I’m present in the moment

but miles and miles away

I’m lonely in a crowded room

lost beneath the neon gloom

I’m here but I’m not seen at all

just a shadow on the wall

echoes where my thoughts consume

I’m close enough to feel the sound

but far too gone to be found

The music keeps on moving

but I’m stuck in my head

A thousand beating heartbeats

and mine feels underfed

I smile like it’s nothing

I laugh like I belong

But every word around me

just feels a little wrong

I feel like shit. I tried optimism but it is not my style. I must write in a detached style. It seems apt. I feel detached. 1 little thing ruined my day. Followed by another. And another. Curse this life.
