if anyone’s interested, this is what i came up with like two years ago almost lmao. explanation of classpects is in the original post i made about that. lands are built out of one thing related to the class and one thing related to the aspect, as they are in the A2 and B1 sessions. for example, with shinichi’s land, prince -> murder and void -> mysteries.
Shinichi – Prince of Void – Land of Mystery and Murder
Ran – Maid of Light – Land of Diamond and Rainbows
Ai – Witch of Life – Land of Fog and Prairie
Heiji – Knight of Space – Land of Sun and Frogs
Kazuha – Sylph of Rage – Land of Springs and Rapture
Sonoko – Mage of Mind – Land of Books and Logic
Eisuke – Heir of Doom – Land of Cellars and Combustion
Sera – Bard of Blood – Land of Masks and Blood
Kaito – Rogue of Breath – Land of Arrows and Hurricanes
Aoko – Page of Hope – Land of Clay and Talismans
Akako – Thief of Heart – Land of Lust and Hoards
Hakuba – Seer of Time – Land of Wake and Hours
Okay I have been trying to figure out the classpects for Detective Conan/Magic Kaito characters for way too long this is ridiculous. Here's what I've got:
Shinichi/Conan is the Prince of Void - someone who destroys mystery, but also uses lack of information as a weapon. Void also likely has some connotations of misfortune, which might explain why death seems to follow him everywhere (for this reason I was somewhat caught between Void and Doom, but c'mon, Void translates to "mysteries" way too easily). His impulse to model his own personality after a fictional character also reminds me eerily of Horuss. I just realized this and creeped myself out.
Ran is the Maid of Light - Since Light means luck, this has a lot to do with how Ran is "made of luck"! She is naturally good at everything and always wins games of chance. Light is also information, and the times that Ran has had the most impact on the narrative have been when she has figured something out!
Heiji is the Knight of Space - Beyond his personal motifs making Knight a tempting choice, Heiji is someone who tries way too hard and goes out of his way to protect people. Space, with its themes of connection and practical (vs abstract) knowledge seemed fitting. It is also important to note that Heiji is the only character we know to have had precognitive dreams in canon, which implies waking early on Prospit. Also the idea of Heiji foraging for frogs really entertains me for some reason.
Kazuha is the Sylph of Rage - Kazuha's role was harder to decide on. She is someone who has a lot of faith in things, which implies Hope, but she also consistently limits her own perception of what is or is not possible, and is very skeptical. It's hard to change Kazuha's mind once she's sure of something. So I eventually decided on her being someone who heals Rage, or heals through Rage. Kazuha fights for and with what is important to her, but never to destructive ends. One scene that influences my choice on this heavily is when Heiji gets shot and in the ambulance, she reacts very emotionally when he appears to be worsening. She hugs him and he yells at her, showing that he is going to be okay.
Ai is the Witch of Life - A lot of people define Witch as one who changes her aspect, so I think this works for her. While it's true that she created poison (not a very Lifey thing to do), this was most likely with the intent to achieve immortality. And in the end she got something which completely changes one's state of growth and perspective on life.
Sonoko is the Mage of Mind - I wasn't even going to include Sonoko (or Sera, or Eisuke) but then I realized that with them and our heroes from Magic Kaito, I'd have every standard aspect and class covered. Sigh. Anyway, I was stumped about Sonoko until I remembered that she likes writing plays for school! That star her! And I decided that would take at least some awareness of people's motivations and decisions. She's good at understanding what's going on, but she's not necessarily manipulative or pulling the strings like a Seer would. She just uses her knowledge to tease people mercilessly. I'm definitely less sure of her role, though.
Eisuke is the Heir of Doom - This basically is just part of his whole "naturally unlucky" thing. Yeah not that sure about this one either, it's been a while since I've read that arc. He kind of acts more like a Page but I think that the idea of inheriting misfortune and sacrifice are more applicable.
Sera is the Bard of Blood - EVEN SKAIA MISTAKES HER FOR A BOY. That is it. That is literally the only reason that she is a Bard. Okay not really, she's certainly got a destructive edge to her, and while I have trouble seeing her inviting destruction of bonds or friendship, I do know that she would wreck shit for the sake of her friends. Beyond that, I don't know how well this role fits! We still know so little about her motivations, but recent chapters indicate that she may have been seeking out old friends? She's still really goddamn mysterious.
On to Magic Kaito!
Kaito is the Rogue of Breath - Breath seemed obvious - flying, quests, etc. I thought about going for the obvious Thief (and even Bard, initially), based on how Kaito's goal in the manga is to destroy Pandora, the focus of the bad guys' quest (both destroying their goal and stealing it). But the Thieves we have seen in Homestuck have some genuine greed motivating them, while Kaito gives back most of the jewels he steals. He also frequently encourages people to follow their dreams or redirects them towards a different purpose. (That girl who wanted to be an actress, the magician that was going to close her troupe, etc.)
Aoko is the Page of Hope - Okay, I wasn't really sure about this one either, but I think it makes sense. Aoko spends a lot of time hoping, and her confidence never really flags. I would also consider Heart for her - she frequently experiments with her identity, pretending to be a married college student or a police officer. But as you will see Heart is kind of taken.
Hakuba is the Seer of Time - I originally had him as Heir (he inherited that watch from his grandfather, remember) but changed it to Seer when I realized I wasn't going to have anyone to fill that role, and I still think it works. He has the foresight to be a Seer, and is definitely manipulative enough. His aspect was informed by his obsession with time as well as his patience and independence.
Akako is the Thief of Heart - She literally steals people's hearts. And their will, which could make her a Mind player, but the way in which she controls people is based on their sense of self and works through their attraction to her, not through individual decisions.
As you can see I'm still not sure about some of these, but I am sure enough that I thought it should at least be posted.
You cannot HARD BOIL AN EGG, as your beloved SISTER already made you one earlier this morning. She makes you an egg salad sandwich every day she wakes up early enough to be on time to work, as it is the ONLY THING SHE CAN SUCCESSFULLY COOK.
You take a careful look at your CHERISHED PHOTO. It is the most perfect family portrait imaginable, captured by one of the Disney princesses while none of you were paying attention.
She approached your father later with the camera, a large sum of money, and some BODY LANGUAGE which did not seem entirely appropiate in front of small children.
Your father politely refused the cash, but took the images in the camera as TREASURED MEMORABILIA.
Your name is John Egbert, and you are one of the top detectives in the city. It is a balmy summer evening, and if you were an egg you would be feeling particularly hard boiled tonight.
Unfortunately, you are not an egg, so you should probably do something of value that will get you paid.
