Developing Minds: Early Childhood

=p light talk of politics probably. (not about the election at least, dont worry.) Also not alot of talk about Ryoshu. Sorry in advance.

Montessori - Child-centered program for children focused on children's structured and individual projects. Follows Maria Montessori's teaching ( i guess. the text book definition is vauge. This has more adult guidance than the other two.)

Reggio Emilia - Hands-on activities for children like drawing, cooking, and garderning in a controled enviornment. Emphasis on creativity and child choice, expensive to run.

Waldorf School - Focused on individuality, emotional development and social development. Older kids are responsible for mentoring younger kids.

School Voucher - Money the government gives for parents to admit their children to what schools they'd like. (Example: money to get into a private school)

NAEYC - National Association for The Education of Young Children (an association advocating for high quality early-childhood education

Summary of options:

Busy Bees Family Childcare: Inexpensive, woman running certified by state, tv in the back a bit of a red flag (because woman might just be watching tv instead of watching the children or letting the kids watch tv which is less than optimal because they must engage in pysical activity. Very atractive option for working parents to drop off kids.

This is how I honestly think more reputable childcare in the Backstreets would work minus the virtual classroom zoom call concept found in Distortion Detective. )

Lil' Kidz Preschool: Two licenced teachers, inexpensive, basic good developmental goal, solid choice.

Wee Angels Early Learning Center: Religon affiliated, bible-based curriculum, uniforms. ( respectfully not my thing. )

Hilltop School: NAEYC acredited, expensive, Reggio Emillia school

Valley School: Expensive NAEYC acredited Montessori

Street Side Early Learning Center: Giving tablets to children at such a young age is bad for their health. Seems very controled, zero play when play is important for early child development (Yuzu is a little toldler right now.)

Verdict: Lil' Kidz Preschool is the safest bet for lower income middle class. Even if this at the start placed me into an upper income bracet, I don't care. The only 'wrong answer' is Street Side Learning Center. The rest depend on you and your partners own personal values/beleifs. Lil' Kidz Preschool was closest to what I personally know so there's a big bias there. Also, I'm very stingy with money. Hot tip I learned from my class: cost of schooling will not insure the quality of education. It only matters on the types of people who work at these early education places. Do not be deceived.

The political thing: Public schooling is underfunded meaning less quality education if you don't fork up money. That's where government vouchers come in, to supposedly close in finacial gap when education isn't good. But who is eligible to receive these vouchers? Why do we need to relay on vouchers when this money can go into funding public education for the better? What happens when the money from the vouchers aren't enough and the parents can't pay. Additionally, (correct me if im wrong.) as shitty as school meals are, public education is an important resource for less fortunate chidlren to have something to eat, vouchers will not provide this. It's all systematic issuses from top to bottom with education and its sad. Children are supposed to be our future and by strattling education, our future is effectivly shot in the foor, put into the hands of unlicenced educators teaching god knows what, then thursted back into a world that seems unforgiving, uncaring of their strife. No wonder a majority of people lack empathy for their fellow humans. That's not the optimal way to survive.

Quality education is imperative for change to occur. Readers in the US, please attend a school board meeting once in your life and watch. I'm not telling you what to think. The vocal minorty of those meetings will shape the early curriculum, setting a presedent for the future. It is one form of local government, perhaps one of the easiest to engadge in next to town or city council meetings. It is also heartbreaking and disheartening to sit through a lot but you must be aware of the physical community around you. Admitedly, I too neglect and haven't engadged a lot but the one school board meeting I atteneded was life-changing. Just give it a shot if you can, or don't, not my problem.

This happens because the child knows one rule of grammer and automatically thinks it applies to everything now. I think this is Logical Externtion, could be wrong. Logical Extention for sure is when a child sees something like shrek then calls anything that's the color of green color shrek.

The Marshmallow test is a popular test done on children to predict how their future will be. Saving the marshmallow supposedly means the child is patient and will grow sucessful in the future. Eating the marshmallow means the child is impulsive and will be less successful in the future. ( if you already think of problems with this method, your right! )
