Transform old roadman houses into hotels and restaurants— at the service of road customers. Mic
The Mic has decided to allocate 650 million euros to restore, enhance and reuse part of Italian real estate assets that have dotted the Italian statehouses since 1800, from north to south. The heritage is made up of roadman houses. The Case Cantoniere selected by Anas will become places for promoting local products, infopoints with wifi, restaurants, hostels, bars, and charging stations for electric cars.
AGI - In Sweden, accommodation facilities appear to be very accessible to road users and tourists alike. With old railway toll booths on disused railroad stretches transformed into small hotels or restaurants, with old wagons on dead tracks. Or sailing ships and Röda Båten (Red Boat) in the Riddarfjärden Bay of Lake Mälaren, in Stockholm, seems a perfect match used to broaden the accommodation on offer.
And in Italy? What about the red roadside houses located throughout the territory. Will they become the prop of a new enhancement thanks to new intended uses in a structured way.
Will they be safeguarding the good of one and all? Still, they're remaining in a derelict state as an example of a disused station.
Goal: transform the former buildings managed by Anas into restaurants, hotels, and places dedicated exclusively to hospitality. And what before seemed to be a dutiful civil commitment today becomes a fair economic resource.
So the Ministry of Culture - MIC - has decided to allocate 650 million euros of appropriations to restore the heritage made up of rural buildings.
It affects farmhouses, cottages, disused agricultural deposits made available in the light of facilitating private initiative without particular restrictions of use.
This phase of restoration of abandoned state-owned structures is a pertinent challenge towards an international and national reality seeing them as new resources - not as a burden on society - but as inclusive, innovative, and reflective new businesses that respond to ever-changing demand.
However, this is not a new recovery project. In 2016, the collaboration between former Mibact, Anas, and the State Property brought to locate 650 roadside houses to recover. Those were part of total assets of over 1.200 structures into service since 1830. All, as well-recorded and verified by the Royal Decree of the former Kingdom of Sardinia, gives shape and momentum to the future through slow and sustainable tourism distributed throughout the Penisula.
During the first selection, approximately thirty buildings were assigned, which have already yielded very appreciable results -
But now, the assignment is more consistent. Anas's announcement through the Official Gazette affects many Italian regions, including Sardinia, with nearly 30 buildings to assign, Lombardy 12, Abruzzo 10, Tuscany, and Lazio, with 7 houses each.
Companies of different types and levels have put forward 41% of the expressions of interest received. Follow shares between 31% by private individuals and 15% by public administrations and civil protection. In comparison, only 8% involve associations and cooperatives, and just 5% relate to farms. The technical-economic proposals must be received online, accompanied by the required documentation, on the ANAS purchasing portal, by June 15, 2021.
There is only one commitment to transform the buildings. The potentials operators have to maintain the characteristic Pompeian red color. By tradition, it has always been typical of roadmen houses. And the purpose is to make them easily identifiable and discernible as hospitality reference points along roads of the beautiful country and road users as many services as possible, in line with EU standards, to support mobility and traffic, including sustainable ones.
According to Mic and Anas, this measure will revitalize the local economy and its business microsystems. But primarily encouraging the so-called “quality diffused tourism” and characteristic of which there is now great internal and foreign demand as well as offer road users as many services as possible
