@devilgcd asked: ❛ the world's become a strange place. ❜
That was one thing that Feng Wu didn’t need to be told. Her world, was a strange place indeed, her world had began three years ago when she woke up on the floor of the forest soaked in blood, cultivation gone, royal titles stripped, her courtesy name revoked. Left in a backwater town on the edge of the desert to live with nothing but the clothes on her back. The once grand mansion that had belonged to her paternal grandfather, nothing more than cobwebs and empty rooms. Sure, she had managed to cobble together enough of a living that she hadn’t frozen to death, or starved to death, but this wasn’t exactly the life of a royal. Never mind Empress in waiting.
Maybe it was a blessing she didn’t remember what having comfort was like?
Every so often, someone recognised her, usually she made a fast escape, lied, told them they had been mistaken…that got tiresome after a while. Why was she having to pretend who she was? AShamed of her own name? Maybe. After all, they kept blaming her. Kept telling her that this was her fault. That she’d cultivated too far. Got too close to immortality and the heavens had burned her for it. This was the result of her own hubris. While there had been one or two people around her who had never bought it but, who would dare tell the Empress she were wrong?
“I’m sorry…” the apology was white, but not a whisper, “I….do not have a good memory these days, so if we have met before,, I don’t..” know you? Remember you? How did you say that without sounding rude? Or stupid?
