Money is a... CURIOUS subject for 17M-RFT29 in that it is both a non-factor in her life, yet something that, somewhere, deep down, she still manages to RECOGNIZE and APPRECIATE the meaning behind. Though, further observations will be needed before we can confirm such a hypothesis. In all her time on the island, Adriana has only let a RARE FEW in, and FEWER STILL have shown any want, willingness or propensity to STAY. Not that anyone could blame them, given her, ahem, EXPLOSIVE TEMPERAMENT. Being around 17M-RFT29 is like being around a grenade with a random timer. A rather literal and visceral game of HOT POTATO. No one quite knows WHEN the penny will drop, but it WILL drop, and Adriana will incinerate every last flammable material she can set her eyes on. All in the name of giving warmth to Lily, that voice in her head that ETERNALLY CRAVES the fire. But we're getting off-topic. Let's digress:
So far, we have only observed a SINGLE INSTANCE of Adriana receiving a material gift from another subject: 18M-RFT34. In one survival game, 18M-RFT34 displayed a remarkable sense of empathy toward 17M-RFT29. While, yes, she REPEATEDLY referred to 17M-RFT29 as a RAVING LUNATIC, she also engaged in several (seemingly successful) attempts to converse with that little girl that no one but Adriana has ever seen. And at one point stitched together personal garments for both Adriana and Bernice. Come to think of it, 17M-RFT29 actually FAILED to recognize or appreciate Mai's gesture at the time of giving, but her demeanor certainly SHIFTED shortly thereafter. She claimed Lily wasn't so cold, and eventually thanked Mai for the garment and even invited her to talk to Lily. Again, a rarity.
Hmm... So was it the GIFT or the COMPANY Adriana treasured? Hopefully we'll get a chance to further observe her and Mai in the future. And, who knows, maybe if we could lead 17M-RFT29 to a subject such as 19M-RFT39 or 17M-RFT31, they may just be reasonable (and rich) enough to help us gather the data we need. For now, we can conclude one thing: 17M-RFT29 wants for NOTHING except for her sister. Her parents' riches FAILED to purchase Adriana's happiness in the aftermath of her sister's tragic demise. But Adriana does NOT turn away gifts given in good will. And either these gifts, or the companions offering them up, are in some way working to alleviate the ASHEN TENSION pressuring her mind to BREAK. Do with this information as you will.
(WARNING: Take care when researching this particular aspect of the subject. After 18M-RFT34's death at the hands of 15M-RFT16, 17M-RFT29 suffered a psychotic meltdown the likes we've feared ever since we let her loose on the island. Had 15M-RFT16 not swiftly exterminated her, she may have very well burned the entire island to its last cinders. These games are not ones we can play lightly.)
