PSA : Leave the voice actors alone.
There's become a running trend in the Genshin and Hoyoverse communities of the fandom attacking and harrassing the voice actors for some of the Sumeru characters that has only really succeeded in scapegoating english voice actors in place of the disciminatory casting and writing and design work of Mihoyo themselves. As if Elliot, Anjali or Christina had ANY control or say or ability to change Hoyo's own decision making that led to Tighnari and Dori being white, and the scripting and supervisory overheads being passed down to the ADR Directors in English to mispronounce the names of Collei and Tighnari. Note: Someone would always play these characters.
Money speaks volumes and Elliot, Anjali and Christina would never get a shot at playing black characters or pronouncing the names correctly. Because final say of that goes to the ADR Directors and the Executive Producers, Story Writers, Character Designers and Directors at Hoyoverse over in China. These voice actors are simply being consummate professionals following the advice given by the company in charge. If they step out of line. They get recast. And someone else gets scapegoated by y'all. This tracks back to the source. This tracks back to Hoyoverse themselves. They are the ones who designed Tighnari and Dori this way. They are the ones who have either failed to reinforce pronunciations for their characters' names or they have just not cared. They are the ones who cast Anjali in a white role (which Anjali shouldn't even be villified for to begin with). They are the ones who were so reckless, ignorant and uncaring as to design their characters this way. And do you know why?
The same reason they made Keqing a 5 star and demoted Ningguang. Same reason they added Tighnari to the blue banner. Same reason they promoted Dehya to five star. Money. Money. Money. Money. Cause people, the community, preferred these character designs, flocked to them. They scapegoated Tighnari. They punished Ningguang and Barbara. They rewarded Keqing. They rewarded Dehya. According to the popular opinion of the masses. Do NOT scapegoat Elliot, Anjali or Christina. They are simply doing their jobs. And were doing a damn great job of it, too. They have no control, say, sway, or any kind of leverage over Hoyoverse to make change happen. And attacking them won't change Hoyoverse. Hold Hoyoverse accountable. Hold. Hoyoverse. Accountable.
