Literally at my Queer Student Union board meeting last night, we were joking about politics, mostly about our support for Sanders. I was like “So, sorry if this comes off as obnoxious, but since you all obviously care a lot I just wanna make sure, and are you gonna make sure to vote?”

And like three different people (there were only 6 people at the meeting including myself!) were like “oh I registered, but i have no idea how to vote absentee, so...” and I’m like. Please. Let me google that for you™. and I like literally printed out the forms for them and showed them how to look up their Board of Elections.

it just makes me so worried when people are so unwilling to put effort in.

Today I voted in the Ohio Democratic Primary! The following are my choices in every category I had a choice in:

For Delegates at DNC: Bernie Sanders (this is the choice that most people will be familiar with) For U.S. Senator: P.G. Sittenfield (maaybe a bad choice, but he has a good voting record. Personally I really don’t like Ted Strickland, but Strickland looks like he has better chances of beating Portman, the republican incumbent. If Sittenfield wins the primary but loses the general election I’ll regret my choice, but I think the chances of him even winning the primary are low. The third candidate, Kelli Prather, is a black woman not a white man, which is quite appealing on its own, but I couldn’t find any info on her outside her own website, so I didn’t feel informed enough about her stances to vote for her). For County Commissioner: Pete Gerken (Gerken is pretty generic, but his opponent’s main issue is cutting funding and acquisitions for the metroparks, so I gotta stand by my parks.)

I am having a really hard time deciding who to vote for when it comes to Hilary vs. Bernie.

I agree with both of them on most issues, I agree more with Bernie and hes actually got a chance at this which I'm surprised about, but my main concern is that most of congress is republican and I feel as though Sanders wont be able to navigate, like he will put forth his radical ideas but nothing will come of them, while Hilary knows what to say and how to say it in a way that will hopefully be able to make the needed changes.

A huge problem with this country:

Adults say we're being lazy and stupid for not voting, us vain teenagers, obsessed with social media. But, the adults don't realize that they're the reason we're not voting, they've messed up this country so badly, these things actually affect for our future, and we are terrified to have any part of it. In a resent Vlogbrothers video, Hank made the point that 'I don't want to cast a vote to the lesser of two evils' is ridiculous because then your casting half a vote to the greater of two evils, but John has mentioned the Trolly thing multiple times. The Trolly thing is, there is a speeding Trolly coming down a hill, if it keeps going, it will hit & kill 5 people, but you have the power to make the Trolly switch to a different road, only killing two people. Even if those two people beg for you to kill them instead, save the five, most people would choose to do nothing, cause even if they save 5 instead of 2, they have still chosen to kill, rather then let it run it's course. We don't like to vote, because no matter what, our future is fucked, but the thought that we could accidentally make it worse, kills us.
