Whatever your gender(s) are or however you lack gender, you're agab/dgab can't undermine that. Deciding who is more nonbinary based on their agab is like saying the only real birds are the ones that fly. And if somebody tells me that penguins are just mammals being fakers, I'm gonna fight them just like I'll fight anyone who says, for example, that amab demiboys aren't "nonbinary enough." Every nonbinary person is nonbinary enough.
You don't have to be comfortable with agab/dgab terminology being applied to you. This is your life and you get to decide how to describe who you are and how you discuss that. Someone else's convenience is not as important as your comfort.
Nonbinary people, your assigned gender isn't the real you. It was a mistake. It was a mistake that you didn't even make. And you don't have to place any importance on it if you don't want to.
You can still be nonbinary even if you are mostly comfortable doing things that are associated with your birth gender. Being nonbinary doesn't have to be about distancing yourself from the past, if that isn't for you. It can about realizing that there is simply more to you than you previously thought.
Your agab/dgab is not your “real gender.” If you have the option, you can even keep your agab a secret if you want to.
is there a difference between agab and dgab or is it just a preference in word choice? as far as I've seen it looks like they mean the same thing but a bit of extra confirmation never hurts ^^;;
They mean the same thing. They just use a slightly different wording.
agab - assigned gender at birth
dgab - designated gender at birth
I’m curious
What do you think my dgab is? (don’t answer if I told you or if you know me irl)
