You don't have to go out of your way to distance yourself from your assigned gender just to be "more" nonbinary.
There are so many ways that you can have your assigned gender be part of you and still be nonbinary.
Being nonbinary, I think, is about allowing yourself the freedom be who you are, not finding news molds to force yourself into.
Some much needed positivity:
I'm nonbinary enough and so are you.
The way you are nonbinary and live as a nonbinary person is unique and particular to you.
There is no need to compare yourself to other nonbinary people and measure yourself against their failures or success.
A cherry blossom and apple blossom can both be beautiful without looking identical to a rose.
Appearing androgynous is only how some nonbinary people look.
If that is how you wish to look, then great! But androgyny is not “more nonbinary” than the multitude of other ways nonbinary people look.
Nonbinary people are an ever changing and varied group of people.
Don’t feel pressured to conform to one facet of this community when you have infinity before you.
Being nonbinary is truly how you make it. There are nonbinary people who have nothing in common aside from the fact that they are not strictly women or men. If your experience of being nonbinary is not like anyone else's, that's wonderful. Live your life as yet another example of just how diverse nonbinary people can be.
