They say that I’m an impulsive idiot.

Whoever ‘they’ are…

I wish they’d stop though, it hurts my feelings.

But, they are correct. I am impulsive…and a bit of an idiot.

I’d like to think my wife enjoys this implusivity. I mean, it’s lead to a wonderful trip to Barcelona in the past. Granted she wasted two hours waiting for me to finish a half marathon…but she’s been to Barcelona.

Inskip Half Marathon - IN-SKIPPED

If I haven’t already mentioned it before I am the proud father to a 7 week old daughter.

My son is 6 and he’s a handful all on his own.

My wife is ever suffering but allows me to carry on with my running as she knows it makes me a better person at the end of the day. She knows when I haven’t been for a run for a while…I’m quick to snap and I’m not overly happy with myself.

2014 - A Year In Review.

It’s been a pretty good 2014 for me all round.  

It  all started in January (as most years do) with building fitness via Jantastic (check out the 2015 version of Jantastic at this link) then the Resolution 10k Run – finished in 49:44.

February consisted of the Barcelona Half – 1:50:21 followed by a very, very windy Blackpool Half – 2:00:09.

Keswick Half Marathon – Run to the hills (In which one of the DH Runners has a secret…which isn’t a secret).

I was going into Keswick Rugby Club Half Marathon still carrying a calf niggle from my previous run the Valiants Half Marathon.

As such I decided that I was going to take this one a little easier. Plus there were going to be hills…lots of hills.

Whenever I think of hills I immediately think of Iron Maiden.
