Ian became super protective of his fellow crew members following the trauma that befell him, but he also grew into a very stubbornly independent person. He wanted to make sure through himself, magic, and/or technology, he would never require outside help at least when it came to his typical daily routine(s). Ian has designed/built everything from removal aids, interchangeable armor/hands to a chair that can be used to get EVERYWHERE and even fight!

This spider chair is one of his best inventions with help from Eldoron and the steam island, skystone tech he is more familiar with.

Random fun facts about Ian’s mobility chair!!

1) It can be powered either manually with limited functionality or via a mental link through the crystal Ian had implanted in the back of his skull to create more natural/faster prosthetic movements. This link allows for total control of the claw legs!

2) The chair has 3 ways of getting around, via a set of wheels that extend down and out, magnetizing to the floor in order to brake/lock in place, via 4 mechanical legs with bladed ends that can get over rough terrain, walls, and even ceilings, or both.

3) There are 2 pairs of wheels, first bottommost pair push the chair forward while the other two drop down spinning in the opposite directions of each other to turn the chair changing direction.

Note: The diagram of the wheels show general idea of appearance vs. exact functionality or mechanical accuracy……I want to create a working 3D render and animate it to better showcase everthing

4) The machinery that allows for locomotion and chair swiveling are covered by copper/brass like alloy and a series of thick tubes that fill with steam/air pressure providing power and precision to the extension and use of the spider legs. They expand squeezing the legs up/out/down/hold them in their current position in space

5) Rajin is made from alien material that is attracted to itself when activated which makes it self healing with help. The ends to the chair’s legs are made from this same material meaning with the right enchantments and timing, they can temporarily melt and bond with the the ship’s interior. Allowing Ian to crawl into impossible spots for repairs or just because.

6) Outside the ship however, the claws have to be protected from and infused with the magic contained inside elemental gems (ie fire, ice, and earth). The claw legs can than react to any rock, vegetation, meltable object, and hard surface to make the claws immobile to the same effect as within Rajin for climbing.

Trish’s character reference sheet!! This one was trickier to draw than predicted, but than I had to pick a complicated action pose….

Who is Trish? Trish is a Qip (a primal goblin like species who mainly thrive in humid swamp and jungles) who ran away from her tribe in search of a better life.

What is Trish? Fiery, tomboyish, outgoing, easily excitable, body dysmorphia sufferer, impulsive, cocky

Trish’s kind possesses a primitive and divisive mind set leading to strict gender roles. The males being blood thirsty proud hunters and protecters while the females become foragers and crafters. Males possess brighter colors, claws, larger more studded crests, bigger fangs, eyes, ears, and tail barbs.

Well Trish was born as a female….mostly, she possesses a lot of the features found exclusively in the male species. She found that her behavior was the same way….a caring nurturing side especially for the native wildlife, but also the desire to fight and not passively let her village suffer unnecessarily from predators, starvation, and even foreign invaders.

Unable to prove herself to the tribe’s Chieftain, Trish felt like she didn’t even belong with her own and ran away.

Eventually running into the others. Trish has to learn how to love herself for who or what she is and not give into unnecessary labels and expectations.

While Trish was created to help capture other non humanoid races (for the sake of the Sci Fi theme and heavy DnD inspiration), she was also created to give some representation to the trans community mainly the dealings with body dysmorphia. I am considering making her nonbinary and/or an asexual. Might also just allow her to choose her female side while embracing the male features as part of what makes her well Trish!! Or both!! There will be a small bit on the pronoun “it”, and how Trish becomes hurt by some stranger calling her that. She also feels the strong need to make herself more “girly”and to fit in better with the upright bipeds.

I finished work in April on a fic with a scene of police brutality. It's against a white person (no race dynamics; that fandom has virtually no characters of color). Then George Floyd happened. The fic was intended to showcase the issue, but now I've held off on posting it because it might be triggering. I don't want to be insensitive. Do you think I can ever post it?

Personally I think a fic for a fandom with no CoC that centers on a white victim of police brutality with the intention to showcase the issue of police brutality is insensitive. Nothing is stopping you from posting it, but there will likely be some amount of backlash.
