A dialectical dilemma in DBT is when there are two types of actions, attitudes, or interpretations (behaviors) that you can do in response to a situation that you're in, and DBT is about finding a way to do behavior that makes your life better, rather than simply going full bore freakout or non-verbal catatonic (or any other ineffective behavior in between)

Those porch theft prank videos are severely exploitative, right?? You tackle problems like package theft by addressing the material conditions that cause them. Making stupid glitter bombs that spray odor intended to make the victim's home stink and posting it to yt for entertainment and profit is terrible. Reeks of neoliberalism.
me: haha i’m a bi lesbian. i’m futch. i am several walking contradictions. i am on so many levels of irony right now. i contain multitudes. i am one with the universe. i am a goddess. i don’t have to explain shit. you either get it or you don’t. i don’t care what anyone else thinks.

Cultural #intelligence relies on:- Understanding cultural norms exist about gender, sexuality, ethnicity and abilities. Understanding we are conditioned to cultural norms from birth. Understanding that we expect others to behave in line with our understanding of norms Equality relies on us setting aside these norms and treating everyone the same despite our understanding Then acting on that #knowledge in a mutual beneficial way. Today, valuing any individual is vital. We all have a role. Inequality is often a reflection of broader cultural norms which may enable injustice, discrimination and workplace bullying. We need to adopt an #empathetic leadership and a radically honest #dialectical approach. We need to change the pervasive culture of minimizing, dismissing and de-valuing groups, particularly women. Each of us must change. Brand leadership requires us to change the rules. #SimonSinek highlighted #work #teams need a high level of #culturalintelligence to produce great #results. Apply these #principles of #cultural #intelligence to become the only choice brand in your field by taking a very public stand, promoting diversity, risk taking, chasing change and non-conformity to cultural norms. What were hegel’s dialectics anyway.
What does that actually mean, in practical terms. Like with an example.
I remember trying to look it up and it was either exceedingly dry, purely self referential academic jargon, or it was weird conspiracy right-wingers renaming ‘false flag operation’ to, I guess, sound smarter and more cultured and their views more precedented.
Is it really as simple as I think it is? Or is there actually something there that warrants the obscure language?
