Vox's screen glitched for half a second, like he was debating just snapping Alastor's neck to get it over with. It wasn't like Alastor had the means to fight back. Or maybe he did and that whole helpless act had been a lie, too. A means to use him.

"I wish you believed in redemption," Vox hissed under his breath instead, shoving Alastor back against the wall and turning to walk away himself.

"Hell would be so much better without you in it."

One of the scenes that played around in my head today 😭 and it stung, so I thought I'd share it. Idk if I'll flesh out the whole story that's in my head for it, but maybe.

But it's a different take on how Alastor's "capture" goes with the Vee's and I make Vox more competent than how the show portrays him. Because a man who managed to become an overlord (without help or associations) in Hell and STAY as one for as long as he has, has to be smarter than people make him out for—

The man still has feelings 💀 he just finally sees through Alastor's bullcrap in the process.

Chapter X

Sirius POV, first year

“You can do underage magic in extreme circumstances and not be punished,” Remus said. “I read about it in Modern Ministry: An Overview of the Ministry of Magic in the Twentieth Century.” Sirius gave him a long look, “you willingly read a book called Modern Ministry: An Overview of the Ministry of Magic in the Twentieth Century?” “It was interesting,” shrugged Remus.  “When did you read it?” “When I was nine.”  “Sheesh Remus, didn’t you have any friends to play with?” Remus looked down and Sirius immediately felt ashamed. After all, who was he to talk about not having friends before Hogwarts.

Thank you, @birdywrites for tagging me! I love tag games! Here’s a snippet of a scene from the untitled “Circus Project”. Tumblr’s first little peek, and though its not much, I am still nervous as hell to post it. :D

“Or even better, find someone to distract you.” Arlin grinned, pleased with himself “What about Allei?” 

“I dated her.” Silas reminded him, rolling his eyes and chugging from his tankard until he was sucking air from the cup. Kiyo filled it and shoved it back at him, leaning into the conversation.

“You did?” Arlin cocked his head- probably to look for Allei.

“The show in Paraba last year? She threw her shoes at me?”

“Oh yeah! Mercy caught one, the other hit you in your big nose!” The lot of them laughed in an uproar, and Silas couldn’t keep himself from snickering at the thought.

“It hit me in the eye, actually.” He recalled as they calmed themselves, feeling warmth build in his belly from the alcohol and welcomed company.

10! what’s a line of dialogue you’re particularly proud of?

Heyo! I’ve been a bit ‘off’ my writing recently but I just jumped back in to a ‘first meeting’ scene in For The Crown with a couple of characters in chapter two and part of it is this:

“Because I recognise your hand.” He leaned forward to tap my notes, then sat back and raised a thick eyebrow. “Your theories are intriguing. An honour to finally meet you, Ryvaeryn.” He narrowed his eyes as I stared at him.

“Why would you have read them? I’ve never published anything in Mantha, and only a couple in your language.”

“I know.” He shrugged. “I’ve translated a few for our libraries here. So what are you doing in my country?”

So yeah that’s Ryvaeryn’s partner’s intense best friend, Joal, and one of my favourite interactions so far.

~Reckless Skies Chapter Seven Excerpt.

(dialogue only)

“Jesus, do you know how bad cigarettes are for your lungs? God they’re disgusting, and they smell bad too,”

“I’m a doctor, so I’ll go ahead and shut you up before you start with that crap,”

“Smart girl, huh? … My name’s Allen,”

“Did I ask?”

“I’m gonna guess you got stood up,”

“What makes you say that?”

“Because no one squats at the bar by themselves,”

“Maybe I’m just that kinda girl,”

“No you’re not, and here’s how I know. Gold hoops, crop top, winged eyeliner, and...high ponytail, straightened. You’re here to party, and you’re here to party with someone and that someone didn’t come. You can’t fool me,”

“Well... so what if I was stood up? What makes you think you can talk to me?”

“I’m not shy, and I like meeting new people. I’ve never seen you before at a scandal, and I’ve seen everyone,”

I seriously love this scene so much.

So much tension, so much sexy, so much suave.

Sirius POV, first year

“What’s the word for tedious?” Sirius asked as he tried to pry miniscule seeds out of the small pile at their workstation.  “Kaṭiṉamāṉa,” informed James.  “Well this is kaṭiṉamāṉa work if there ever was any,” Sirius sighed.  Professor Sprout called loudly, “now, if you have identified all ten seed varieties, I’d like you to take out parchment and create a table with a box for each seed you have, drawing an image of the specimen, labeling it properly, and writing a brief description of the plant it would germinate into.” “Ugh, I don’t think I like Herbology much,” groaned Sirius.  “Not many chances to be a hero huh?” Remus responded.  Sirius gave him a withering look.
