Miscellaneous Info about the Diamond Cutters!

For a while now, Slinger, Smithy, and Claire all haven’t had their own pages on the Sonic Wiki. Earlier today, I noticed that their pages have finally been made, giving us some minimal information about them, as well as some updated stuff for Mimic.

First of all, remember when I talked about some rumors regarding the species of Slinger, Smithy, and Claire? Well, it’s finally been confirmed that they are in fact an Ocelot, a Lion, and a Howler Monkey.

There was also another little hidden thing I didn’t notice in Issue 3 of Tangle and Whisper...

With stuff like this, the Retail Incentive cover for Issue 9, and the inclusion of the Babylon Rogues, I wonder if they’re alluding to an upcoming Sonic Riders game. I doubt it, but it would still be pretty cool.

Even MORE Tangle and Whisper Conspiracy Theories!

I’ve been thinkng a lot about stuff related to Tangle and Whisper since yesterday, and it made me realize some things, come up with more ideas for things that could happen, and come up with even more questions about what’s to come.

First off, I wanted to talk about Mimic for a bit, because there’s still quite a bit we don’t know about him. For starters, where has he been this whole time? Since Tangle and Whisper takes place after Issue 12 and Mimic works for Eggman, you’d think he probably would have been with Eggman and everyone else in Issue 12, but maybe he was off doing his thing. One thing I also find interesting is that I assumed Eggman was the one who told Mimic that Whisper was still alive, but if Mimic WAS doing his own thing and Eggman was stuck as Mr. Tinker for most of the time he wasn’t around, how would he be able to tell him that? Also, Eggman has never interacted with Whisper yet (although they might have fought in the past as I will mention later), so he might not even know who Whisper is or that she’s still alive. For these reasons, I’m starting to think that Mimic is possibly working with someone other than Eggman who also is somehow connected to Whisper and the Diamond Cutters. 

Moving onto a related topic, I wanted to talk about the Diamond Cutters too, because even though we know a little bit about them, there are still things we probably won’t know until Issue 3. For example, what exactly is it that they did and when did they do it? We do know that they fought against Eggman and Mimic also helped them out, but did that happen before the war or during it? I’m assuming it happened before the war because Whisper was “The Guardian Angel” working alone for the span of it, but maybe the team fell apart and Whisper was left alone at the very beginning or close to the beginning of it. Also, since they were fighting against Eggman and they all appear to have similar gear specifically used for combat stuff, I’m willing to bet that they were basically a smaller version of the Resistance with only a few members and other people working alongside them like Mimic. 

In this panel, it also mentions that Mimic is a Mercenary, so maybe the Diamond Cutters are a Mercenary group? If that’s the case, I wonder if they ever teamed up with Team Hooligan :3 It could also mean that just Mimic was a Mercenary and he was hired by the Diamond Cutters to work with them, which would also mean he probably wasn’t an official member of the team. Who knows, maybe they were just a club that really liked cutting Diamonds :3

Also, are the other Diamond Cutters dead? It seems they’re VERY heavily implying that, but what if there’s a plot twist where they aren’t actually dead. Honestly, I’d be cool with that, I wouldn’t mind seeing them team up with Whisper again and being important to the plot. 

One thing that I also thought of recently is this panel right here from Issue 9...

Since Mimic teamed up with Eggman to take out the Diamond Cutters, it would make sense why Whisper would have a grudge against him, but we still don’t know why or if she has a thing against Shadow. I’ve also been wondering if Shadow in IDW has at one point worked for Eggman, because if he did, that means he might have played some role in taking out the Diamond Cutters, but we don’t know the whole story behind him yet. This wouldn’t be the first time something like this would happen either, because basically the same thing happened with Shadow and the Jackal Squad in Forces (which funnily enough takes place right before IDW).

Finally, we have the greatest mystery of all... If Mimic locked Tangle in a safe with the intent of killing her by blowing up the building...
