Those Crazy Days

Creeps the uncalled visitor

Hidden in ancient coding

The building blocks of humanity

Only hinted by forebearers

And ignored for solace

Stealthily crawling up red pathways

Hiding in haywire passages

Silent and waiting

Until: a catastrophe

 Unleashes the visitor

Whispering softly

Of Doom

Of Apocalypse

Targeting ordinary moments

Uneasy feels the carrier

Commands the visitor

Stop

The bus

Train

Car

And bicycle

Get off; out of

The real forms hybrids

Seen through blinking wide eyes

Nothing is realised

And so it happens

The alteration

Bewildered bystanders fley uselessly

While time unravels

White triangles of caked compounds

Quieten the noise

Until in the blissful silence

Decisions are made

Of false power and magnificence

To forego the caked compounds

And a cycle is birthed

Poet Horace (65–8 BCE) in his Epistles (Book 1, Poem 2, Line 40). The full line is:

"Dimidium facti, qui coepit, habet: sapere aude, Incipe." "He who has begun has half done: dare to be wise, begin!"

How does this read? Too obscure for a poem? The word "fley" worries me. But I do love it!
