Pokemon Journeys Episode 131 Review

Pokemon Journeys Episode 131. Let’s review:

Continuing on with Ash vs. Leon, we are now at the third part of it. And it was pretty good. As per expected at this point, both parties showed off really impressive power, strategies, and move usage that kept the battle on its toes, such as Sirfetch’d riding on his shield to get closer to Rillaboom and Pikachu climbing on Charizard’s Max Rockfall to avoid it. There sadly wasn’t much good character interaction in this episode, with the only good moment I remember was Dracovish thinking of Sirfetch’d as he charged towards Rillaboom with Dragon Rush, a nice callback to their friendship. Some of the effects were beautiful as well, ESPECIALLY the clash between G-Max Wildfire and 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt. You definitely feel the impact with how the stadium shakes and how the audience reacts to it. THAT was awesome.

I DON’T like how some Pokemon went out, though. Poor Sirfetch’d, the only one on Ash’s team who’ll likely not leave this fight without a win. While Dracovish’s finisher of Rillaboom was cool, just imagine how even cooler it would’ve been if Sirfetch’d finished him off by, say, idk, have Sirfetch’d break through Rillaboom’s drum as a callback to how his leak broke right before he first evolved. Plus, he still could’ve done a bit more. Remember, this is the same Pokemon who made Cynthia’s Garchomp stagger. But no, gotta keep Cinderace alive somehow so that the final battle of Journeys will be Pikachu vs. Cinderace, a symbolic something something way of depicting Ash vs. Goh. So hope that’s not the case...

Aside of all that, I enjoyed the cameos as well. Could’ve used a cameo of Rinto as well when Sirfetch’d battled Rillaboom, but eh.

Overall, I’ll give this episode a 9/10. Not much to complain about, really.

Is it just me or does champion diantha look a lot like Audrey Hepburn

Actually, it’s not a reach to say Dianthia was based on her! They’re both film stars, very glamorous in a classic way, similar looks. And if I’m not mistaken, Audrey was associated with France at times as well. I know she was a fluent French speaker, since she was born in Belgium, and even gave full interviews in French!
