So I decided to make a dice tray. I don't really know much about them, and this decision was made on a whim when I stacked some wooden mushrooms on top of a wooden slab I had laying around. It looked cute, and I was enamoured. It did not help that I recently acquired a set of mushroom dice, which I love dearly.

Obviously, I didn't have enough mushrooms, so I went to a store further away that didn't have mushrooms, and then had to order them online, which was quite sad, as it meant I had to wait longer for mushrooms.

But here we are! With a very inconvenient 38 mushroom diameter, meaning I have 4 pointy mushrooms in a row later on.

Gutted.

Anyway. I set up my shrooms by sticky-tacking them down to some cardboard scraps and set up my little work station on the floor at the coffee table.

Using watered down white acrylic, I painted two coats over each mushroom to form a relatively uniform base for my next steps.

I'm very new to the idea of ttrpgs, but even if I never get to use this as a dice tray, it will be a nice project to keep me busy for a while. :)

Tomorrow, I will start by painting my six test mushrooms to see if I like what I have planned.

Working on the dice trays! We got down to a handful and realized we need to step it up. I reread the whole series again recently so this was stuck in my brain.

I’m really proud of this one in particular because of all the little details. Seriously, burning the house emblems into the top was rough. The type was fun but for some reason the lowercase A was a little different every time.

I loved this quote from Jujubee from this week’s Adventuring Party episode for “Dungeons and Drag Queens” when she said, “I give grace to my curiosity, sweetie!” As an educator, writer, researcher, and artist, that phrase nestled right down into my heart. I had to break out my wood-burning kit this morning and get right down to work!
