I do kinda want to give him the benefit of the doubt as a main protagonist, and say it was just Digimon, but the rest of the Five Stars have shown no qualms towards killing humans, even something of a token decent teammate like Rose didn't hesitate to try to vaporize literal child Miharu, and they all note he really changed from how he used to be, so it feels unlikely his hands are bloodless there.
(Plus his "You don't have to live life bound to your past" establishing a parallel between him and Haruomi, who we know did kill people.)
