I am going to talk a lil bit about covert harassment of women on social media.
First off, it is Viperslang not slag unless you are “unintentionally” trying to use a slur/profanity to degrade my moniker.
Now for the rest of it --
This individual - ki6 etc - has been stalking me across multiple platforms for over an year - twitter, Tumblr, fb, IG - & insists on me reading the long drooling dribble spat out by him. He is a rubbish writer btw and very smug in his belief that his grasp of ontology/philosophy is newsworthy. Most 3rd graders could chew him up and spit him out in 0 to 30 flat. He has created multiple accounts to bother me with and has sent me multiple messages over a period in time despite my not responding to any of them. He has time and again inserted himself in conversations about women’s rights or gendered violence on twitter and fb using utter bunkum quotes from writers he googles in a slipshod manner. I had not idea he was now going around slapping my name on random blogs here. When he receives no response from me, he fixes his attention to my friends - mostly WoC poets - and then connives my name into that conversation. I was unaware that this post existed till someone here pointed it out and am thankful to that person. I didn’t block him for “no reason”, I blocked him coz he has been hounding me, stepping into my space without a smidgen of dignity to maintain boundaries with strangers he relentlessly pursues online. And I can’t believe I have to write a post to shed light on this pile of garbage.
Notice that comfortable sense of ownership and blatherskitery with which he declares that my twitter is “unintentionally” funny because of course he knows more about how I engage or create moments of humor or joy on my platforms than I do. This is a nefarious and intrusive asshole. There is no other way to describe it.
When we speak about the obvious predatory behaviour of misogynists, we often like to lionize more public figures but forget that women experience continual disturbances in merely existing digitally or irl. This person is very good example of such a man. He managed to find my email id and has written incredibly triggering and long emails detailing psychoses etc which had nothing to do with me and were truly destabilizing for me as person seeing how I fight clinical depression. This is a covert offender who uses suitable armchair tactics but nevertheless is equally problematic and harmful for a woman’s mental and emotional wellness.
This is obsessive stalking and a form of erotomania that a lot of women, particularly WoC, experience online via white cishet dudes who fetishize our existence, failing which they go about spilling their bitter gut to whoever will give them space for that transaction & it is high time we sort of punched it back in its face because it is unbearable, unethical and undesirable on every level.
