WAP (ft. Megan Thee Stallion) - Cardi B

“WAP,” is a new song that has definitely gotten a lot of attention and criticism by some. It is a collaboration between female rappers, Cardi B and Megan the Stallion. The acronym stands for Wet Ass P***y, so you see where this is going. This is actually my first time both hearing the song and watching the music video. I don’t really see why people were so offended by the song unless they’re sexually repressed or something. Because it’s not different from the music Cardi and Stallion put out normally, besides being a lot more explicitly direct. Anyway, the music video begins with a statue of Cardi and Stallion in the yard, which then brings us into the home. I love the vibrancy of the colors in the home! They do their normal dances and Cardi is definitely more exposed than I’ve ever seen. There was a random appearance of Kylie Jenner and other people like Normani and Rosalia. I get the latter, but don’t understand Jenner’s place in the music video. The lyrics are definitely vulgar. There is so much they had to bleep out in this edited version and of course having to say “gushy” instead which sounds kind of off. Anywho, not a big fan of the song personally, and not because of the content, just not into it. But I did like the music video and I do think they work well as a collaboration. Lastly, I really wish people would stop trying to tell women how they should or shouldn’t express their sexuality. Especially men. Hello patriarchy!
