I’m going to take a moment to tell you NOT to see a movie that is coming out soon.

Sia’s new movie called ‘Music’ if you truly love and want to help children and adults with autism. This movie is spreading so much misinformation that it’s hurting the autistic group before the movie is even out. Also keep in mind I’m speaking as a autistic person myself. I’ve had autism since I was born along with a rare seizure disorder.

1. From what we know about the movie now, the movie is about a autistic girl trying to get into the music industry. Sounds great right? Well it would be if Sia actually hired actors and actresses with autism. And she did, only to find out she hated working with them, thought they were stupid and hard to work with. So she fired them all. All of them. Even the lead actress who was autistic. So all these workers were suddenly out of jobs and replaced with normal actors who had no idea about this disability.

2. Sia did admit to firing all the workers with disabilities but she claimed “the movie will be much easier to make and she can’t make the movie without her new team.” 🙄

3. A new video got released today show the main character being restraint when he is having a normal autistic meltdown. Which in case you didn’t know, IS VERY BAD! You NEVER restraint someone during there meltdowns. It could kill them! And this movie is showing it as something perfectly normal.

4. The money that is bad from this movie is going to Austim Speaks but what they don’t tell you is for being a charity that is supposed to give back families with autism, it doesn’t. They just use that word to gain attention to fund other businesses. The charity is a fake that does nothing for the community.

I’ll leave a link to the Instagram post explaining it more. But PLEASE DONT SEE OR SUPPORT THIS MOVIE. I’ve been working with a autistic support page trying to explain to others why this movie is so bad. The fact that this movie is even getting the green light just makes my blood boil. And I’ve been told by others that “it isn’t a big deal.” Or “you’re being dramatic” autistic people are one of the most bullied and under represented groups I’ve people that I know. So please please don’t support this movie and tell others to do the same. And don’t support Sia or her music anymore.
