i can’t stand when able bodied/able minded people strawman themselves into the disability identity only when talking to people who have to rely on the disability community and identity for support or just straight up can’t hide their disability
if you don’t ever identify yourself with disability you can’t expect me to do it for you so you have higher ground in a discussion, and sometimes it’ll be a person who COULD absolutely identify as disabled if they chose to but if you never ever identify with that community don’t do it to disregard the opinions of those more disabled than you
