I NEED HELP WITH DISCORD!!!

This is just a portion of my currently open Support ticket with Discord. Instead of helping me re-secure an account that I STILL HAD ACCESS TO ON MY PHONE, they instead disabled it and ARE NOW PRESSURING ME TO FULL DELETION.

This is an account I've had since they first started Discord a good 10 years ago. This account has my entire relationship history on it which is desperately needed for my UK spouse visa renewal.

Explanation that I copy pasted from one of my posts: A "friend" of mine [aka she got hacked first] asked me to join in for a game called Escape from Ruin, and it looked legit cuz 1 she didn't send any links and 2 they spoke like my friend. I clicked the thing that pops up on the side of discord showing when someone plays a game to download it directly from the website and again, looked legit af. When it didnt load up after installing it and Firefox automatically closed, thats when I realized something was wrong. Discord then got fucky [cuz they were hacking it] and I had to scurry to change passwords and fix shit before they completely locked me out. unfortunately, they successfully snatched both of my very important gmails and genuinely changed EVERYTHING. Recovery emails, recovery phone numbers, even the security key itself. And these gmails also had my authenticator app codes, so those were also compromised. End of copy-paste.

So, I still had access on my phone at this time and could use the account. I had a security key on it that I was unable to use to get back on my PC, despite LITERALLY having one because it demands you to plug it in like a USB thing. I still had my bank account connected to it for Nitro. I used my ID for Age Verification. Things they could easily use to confirm I still owned the account.

Instead of even reading my support ticket, they immediately disabled it and told me 'we can't do anything except delete it, tell us yes and we'll do so'. All my replies after have been met with something along the lines of 'there is nothing we can do, please give us consent to delete your account' which I am constantly saying NO, YOU DO NOT HAVE CONSENT in my replies.

I am desperate at this point. My mental health has been crumbs the past several months and if I do lose this account I genuinely cannot guarantee staying sane enough to try and stay alive. I can't lose this account, someone has to help me.

man getting my discord disabled is like hell to me because all my jobs and stuff are on there and without my job which is my dream job I literally lost my reason on living bro

storyboarding and voice acting had kept me going because people loved it and I’m going to freaking lose it if I can’t get it back in any way

Regarding Discord's recent Support Site Compromise

Sharing this before the misinformation & fear-mongering train hits the Tumblrs.

Yes, Discord's Support Site was partly compromised. IMPORTANT: Discord's Support Site is separate from Discord itself. In other words: Discord's main platform was NOT compromised. ONLY the Support Site.

This is because Discord's Support Site is powered by a third-party service known as Zendesk. Zendesk is not made by nor managed by Discord. Discord only makes use of Zendesk software to run the support site.

You will know if you were affected by if you received an email from "[email protected]" about this. Only information you explicitly gave in the affected support tickets (which are listed in the mentioned email), as well as basic information attached to your Support Account will have been at risk.

MY DISCORD WAS HACKED!

So anyone who's in any of my servers and is friends with me on discord, I need y'all too REPORT AND UNFRIEND MY OLD ACCOUNT immediately!

So I'll explain this the best way I can. There's a little discord hacker going around and it may seem very simple, not easy to fall for but let me remind you that discord has 13 year olds on it. They're obviously not gonna be very well aware, not that they're dumb but this is a discord employee impersonator.

So essentially my account was taken over by someone going by nguyen_supports. They basically hacked into a friends account and told me through the acc that they've mistakenly reported me and that I was at risk of being permanently banned (like ip address banned) so of course I panicked like a dumb ahh and went to the supports person immediately

I essentially had a whole conversation, then got my whole account taken from me bc my email was changed and so was my password.

Now what happened to my account was that it's being used for the same scam. My friend got the very same message I got from the friend that got hacked b4 and blah blah

As you can see in the images the person used my account to give a fake Discord Support account to hack into other accounts.

If you happen to a get a message similar from any of your friends, report their account and block them. Try contacting that friend any other way, whether it'd be irl, another social media, just anything other then that account as they will not be able to respond.

If you happen to call them out as a hacker, according to another friend of mine @sunnysdw they will just delete messages and block you.

Again, the user is nguyen_supports but they're also going by Elizabeth

If you happen to have friended the support already and if it's not too late, your gonna want to tell them you can't talk anymore, report them and block them. Closed dms and never contact them again.

I'm not sure what the intentions of this person are but I thought I'd make people aware, I don't even think I can get my account back.

Discord is holding my account ransom for personal information.

So I had Discord lock my account the other day. They claimed it was flagged for "suspicious activity" and that I needed to "verify my identity" by adding a phone number to unlock it.

I have never used a phone number with Discord. Adding a random phone number now would do nothing to "verify" anything about who I am.

I have a secondary authentication set up via an authenticator app. This apparently means nothing, despite the fact that it does actually verify something about who I am in relation to the account.

I emailed their support, explaining this. I was first given a bot reply. I responded, saying I wanted to talk to a person. I was theoretically connected to a person, who said my request was elevated to their "verification specialists." I then got a canned response from said specialists that their "detection system triggered successfully" (???) and I would be required to add a phone number to regain access.

I responded again, asking why my account was flagged, and what purpose they were trying to achieve with this requirement. I received the exact same canned response, explaining absolutely nothing. I repeated one of my questions, in the vain hope that perhaps taking things one step at a time might assist. The ticket was closed without response and I received a survey asking how my experience with support went.

I was given zero warning before my account was locked. I have now zero recourse to recover my account except to permanently link a phone number to it--removing the number, once it's added, will immediately lock me out again until a "valid" phone number is added to it again.

I am far from the only person to have this issue.

And they've been doing it for years.

Message boards from three, four, five years ago are lamenting this very same issue, with the very same "support" offered--even with the word-for-word exact canned response about the detection system "triggering successfully"--and some of those message boards note how they've seen message boards about the same issue for years already!

They have a proven disinterest in ever changing. If you have a Discord account, be aware that it could be held ransom at any point, for trivial reason.

Additional note that I also had my tumblr account flagged for suspicious activity at one point! I submitted a support request saying, hey, I'm a real person here, doing nothing that violates your TOS, what the hey? Please give me back my account. It took them a week to get back to me, but their response was, oh, you are a real person! We're so sorry that happened; you have your account back now and it shouldn't happen again.

That is a reasonable response to this sort of thing. Not Discord's BS.

can we put our brains together how do i get my wrongfully banned discord account back

i didn’t do anything and they didn’t tell me what messages i sent so i suspect i just got ban hammered. i’ve sent an appeal, messaged support (they responded once but it wasn’t helpful) and messaged their twitters.

anyone here have connections or a techie that can help? for once i can’t ask my parents and im just scared.
