"God you made your character look so CLOCKY. Its CLEARLY a FETISH at this point. God. Why do you have to draw girls with facial hair!? Why do you have to draw guys with small shoulders and wide hips??"
Hey. Question. How do you feel about visibily intersex people? Hey. Answer the question. Why do you feel so deeply uncomfortable seeing someone who doesnt look cis. Hey get back here.
if a transmasc related to a post i made about being a woman I would be saying yay yippie hell yeah because fundamentally all humans are the same species
Hey, so I know that I have some following that might be younger. But if a content creator tells you that they are going to send people after you for repeat offenses. That is not okay. It is an abuse of power.
You are not responsible to make adults comfortable. They can do that themselves. You are still a teen/young adult and you do not have to carry the world on your shoulders. You also do not need to make an adult happy on the internet.
CCs are not your friends and most likely, they never will be.
this may be an unpopular opinion to the 10 Sabriel fans, but I feel it has to be said. I don't think Sam and Gabriel in a relationship would be fully healthy.
hold your horses before you shoot me- I still ship them, and I have reasonings. mini rant up ahead!
We see in canon that Gabriel is similar to Dean in the way that he just covers up his emotions with hundreds of layers of sarcasm, and in his case, tricks. Whenever someone close to him does that, it annoys Sam to no end. He always pushes people to talk, to process their emotions. Gabriel generally dislikes anything that pushes him too much.
I can one hundred percent see them arguing over how Gabriel handles things, Sam just being concerned and Gabriel just not wanting to talk about anything. I can imagine Gabe just.. leaving Sam. Not in a relationship way, just in a poof, he's gone because he doesn't want to deal. This angers Sam because he's worried, and oh, we've perpetuated the cycle.
Never mind the fact that there would be so, so many secrets- which is healthy for zero relationships. Sam keeps secrets, like with the whole Book of the Damned business, all. the. time. Gabriel lied about his identity with multiple layers. There would be constant things hid from each other, despite the fact that they're dating. Disaster waiting to happen.
To be healthy, I think they'd both need to heal from their respective issues to some extent, and properly trust each other before they'd be good at all.
With this in mind, I still think they could be a great couple, just not perfect and not at first. If they actually let each other in, I think they're so different that they could actually help each other.
Sam in cannon generally always understands first that Gabriel's way of communicating is through 'lessons' and tricks- and as long as it wasn't something like Mystery Spot again, Sam could learn to be okay with that.
Gabriel could learn how to be okay with the fact that Sam needs stability, and could find a way to give him that. When Gabriel loses hope, Sam has a speech already prepared that helps every time. Gabriel wouldn't hesitate to smack some sense into Sam if the low self worth gets to him (affectionately/metaphorically).
I personally think they have a lot of potential in cannon even though their dynamic has been barely explored, but barely anything in Supernatural is all sunshine and rainbows. Sabriel wouldn't be either.
What is your take on all the Charlie hate? Personalty I find a lot of it weird and often done in bad faith
Oh yeah, I've got some Thoughts™ about this! Gonna be spitting some Opinions here, so be warned! There be hot takes abound! And to properly illustrate this, I will be using spites of my persona to convey the tone of this!
The hate on Charlie isn't caused by a writing issue. It's fine to have a character with her flaws because people IRL have those flaws and can learn something by seeing them portrayed in a story. The hate for Charlie is caused when people with similar flaws to Charlie see a mirror and get uncomfortable.
And because they're uncomfortable and embarrassed, they then have to justify it. It is far easier to blame an outside source than to look inwards. So they call it a piece of garbage and jump on the hate bandwagon!
I know this because it made me uncomfortable too. I have fucked up like Charlie did... because it's a realistic mistake to make. That's what causes the 'cringe' reaction. It took me days to watch the entirety of episode 3 because it was way too relatable.
But in the end, Charlie's not an irredeemable piece of shit who needs to do hard labor to be forgiven (same goes for anyone BTW). She's a person who fucked up in a cringe way that had serious consequences. She then took responsibility to repair the damage she had done.
I know I wrote a more... mature version of Charlie for the Fallen Emily AU. I sidestepped the cringe cause that's not what I was focusing on. But, in doing so, I made Charlie a far more shallow character. If I had been writing her for the show, she would have been written off as "just another Mary Sue goody-two-shoes!". But because I'm not Vivzie, people are praising my version of Charlie without realizing all the flaws in my writing.
Nor do they stop to think that I could be just as 'bad' of a person (whatever that means) as the belothed vixen, Vivzie!!!!
And... look, I wish I could be appreciative of all the compliments I've gotten about the Fallen Emily AU. I really do. But as of late, most of them have been like this;
Oh and there's so many more too!
Now, hot take apparently, but maybe don't use a fanwork as a platform to bash the original! I made the comic because I love the show! I'm expanding on it's themes, analyzing it's characters, I've dedicated over a year and a half to this project!
What the hell makes them think I dislike Hazbin? Where do these people get the balls to say this stuff????
So yeah, a lot of the criticism against this show is absolutely in bad faith! I'm starting to suspect there's an actual smear campaign cause it threatens to make people think about morality! Which is... more than a little concerning! That's the thing about bandwagons, you get so caught up in it that you forget to ask where it's going....
And look, even if you hate Hazbin Hotel but love the Fan-Content, still don't do this. If Amazon thinks us fandom creators are a threat to their customer base, they can and will have our stuff removed. We'll get Cease & Desist letters in the mail, and we'll have to take our stuff down! This is also why we can't make money off of it.
It's easy to forget in the era of AO3 supremacy, but we are not safe from copyright violations. Hiding from the big corporate eye in the sky is the best way to keep the fan-stories you like avalible. So don't go making it a Thing™ alright?
Anyways, in conclusion; I agree wholeheartedly with brain bubbles here and my take is that Charlie was a bit cringe/prideful this season, but that's better than her being bland.
seeing identity politics be so prevalent online is so disturbing because if a republican lawmaker was sat in a room with a trans woman, a butch lesbian, a trans man, a drag queen and a neopronoun user, they wouldnt give a shit about who was who and which person was more queer. theyd care more about keeping us all out of the general public.
