Bear with me while I Discworld AU for a min.
What if Agnes Nitt met Vimes after/during the events of Maskerade. What if she stayed in the city and Vimes and Sybil accidentally became her mentors of sorts.
Sybil met Agnes while she was singing and the two hit it off and before she knew it Agnes was volunteering at the Sunshine Sanctuary. And after spending enough time with such a huge personality as the Duchess of Ankh Lady Sybil Ramkin, Agnes didn't hear Perdita hardly at all anymore.
A popular theory is that Vimes is a witch and AM is his patch. He would be perfect to accidentally become Agnes's mentor without either of them realizing what was happening. So Agnes became a witch after all, in a kind of... well let's say Agnes is to witches what the Nac Mac feegle are to fairies.
I don't quite know how to articulate this idea any better, but it is currently rotating in my brain like a rotisserie chicken.

‘Tell me, commander, do your loins have a tendency to quiver?’ ‘Huh?’
Havelock Vetinari is a prisoner at Pseudopolis Yard and, having nothing to do, he finds a way to keep himself busy.
~
I will forever be haunted by the question what happened at the Yard during the events of The Truth. Here’s another attempt to fill in some blanks.

One blustery morning, a short note arrives on Downey's desk that says: Patrician. Sektober 13. Soon after Vetinari receives an old newspaper clipping about the death of a colleague's father that occurred forty years ago. It doesn't take long for things to go a little wahoonie shaped with a dead girl in a tree, a two hundred year old mystery, and a creature stalking the streets of Ankh-Morpork.
Of course, throughout all of this, Vetinari is fending off unsolicited advice from his aunt (buy a lint roller!) and begins to worry that he might be developing an approximation of something like maybe feelings, for a limited value of feelings, for one Master of the Assassins Guild.
Naturally, nothing is every entirely straight forward and some families have old secrets.
-- Obligatory Excerpt
‘Vengeance?’ Downey suggests. He shrugs casual-casual. Nothing-to-see-here. Just idle thoughts. ‘As Bosola said: vengeance, like the plague, takes much in blood. Perhaps it’s his mistress. When she dies, she remains unconvinced that he, too, is dead and wants to make sure the job was done.’
‘I suppose that holds water,’ Vetinari agrees. ‘If he caused his mistress as much pain as is implied by the little we know.’
‘So…if our estimable creature is a ghost—’
‘Our estimable creature?’ Vetinari smiles fully, the first since entering the carriage, which pleases Downey.
‘It’s an accurate description,’ Downey insists, playing it up a little. ‘The creature is worthy of praise for being very good at doing its creaturely business. It is, therefore, accurate to call it estimable.’
This has Vetinari staring at the carriage ceiling.
one more chapter after this then we are done with the world’s longest non-date date-night.

Summary:
“We could go slow, darling. We could spend months exploring what you like. Trying new things one at a time not to overwhelm you…” Sybil caressed Havelock’s cheek with the back of her hand. “But.” This time he felt Samuel moving behind him. His lips almost brushed Havelock’s ear. “But we think you like it rough.”
WIP Word Game
Rules: you will be given a word. then you share one sentence/excerpt from your wip(s) that starts with each letter of your word.
Oh, fun! Thank you for tagging me, @megafaunatic! I had the word SALVE.
I had to dig deep for the L ...and I've gone with excerpts because they were more interesting.
S: “Says the man with a whole damned spy network at his fingertips!” Vimes rounded on him. “Where were they, in all this, by the way? Shouldn’t you have known about this? A man can’t whistle in this bloody city without you finishing the tune!”
A: At that moment the decision was made for him, as Vimes’ legs gave up complaining vaguely about working conditions and moved directly to a full withdrawal of labour; he felt them start to go out from beneath him, and managed to direct his fall into the nearest chair.
L: Lu-Tze thought about this for a long minute, and scratched his chin. “It is written, Mister Vimes, that ignorance is bliss. And in this particular case you don’t need any more weight added to that stick you’re beating yourself with. So I’m not going to tell you.”
V: Vetinari shivered, and Vimes watched his wrists flex against the metal of the cuffs.
E: “‘Excuse’, Vimes?” Vetinari’s tone now was downright dangerous, and Vimes felt the adrenaline surge again.
Three of those are from the remaining chapters of Intricate Rituals, one is from the Fluid Dynamics sequel (no prizes for guessing which 😂) and the L is from something on hiatus.
I tag @asongaboutpirates @nightvalechildarmy @helenvader and @slowlymychaos, with the word VENUS.

For the Hurt/Comfort Exchange this year, I wrote a nice little Polly/Maladicta (Monstrous Regiment) post-canon fic!
“What if I fuss over you?” Maladicta says out of the blue, and it throws Polly into such confusion that Maladicta has her half out of her coat before she realizes what's going on. Polly is wounded. Maladicta is not happy about it.
