Tumblr not found in Google Play Store

Okay, so I don't see much conversation about this, so I am going to talk about it. Tumblr has inexplicably been removed from Google Play store in some regions. At least two separate posts on Reddit suggest that this is happening in India, and at least one comment on these posts has said that there is a similar situation in Germany.

Support has apparently said that Tumblr might be blocked in the country, but those who actually have the app say that it's still working, and the website is working fine as well. There does not seem to be any official notification from the German or Indian governments about the blocking/banning of this app, at least none that I could find.

Would appreciate if some light can be shed on the matter. An explanation would be nice. Is it a Play store issue? Tumblr issue? Government issue?

At this point, I don't think my five different Pinterest boards, each about a stand alone fantasy setting that has vibes and magic systems a plenty, all of which would have been grand successes to put game of thrones to shame, are ever being written. They are just going to get a lot of siblings, is all.
