Blog Entry 2- The Interview Process
It’s been a while since I’ve posted, but life happens you know? People have to realize that diseases like procrastination and laziness can’t be cured….. ANYWAYS after you’ve completed the application process you usually find out in a matter of 24 hours if you can move on to the next step (btw I forgot to mention: the earlier you sign up the better). The next step is the Web-based Interview. When I first applied this is where I screwed up. I thought I was sooooo clever and sooooo independent that I could do it all on my own (of course I was wrong). But messing up was the greatest thing that could have happened to me because the next time I applied I was ready. During the time that I applied to DCP the second time, I remembered a lot of the questions they asked so I decided to write some down and talked to my mom about them. My mom is one of those parents who just seem to know everything there is to know about interviews. So she helped me a lot and gave me good advice before I took my web-based interview. Some advice included breathing techniques to help calm me down, trying to find a quiet place to take the interview, and to make sure you use a reliable computer. (I’m a total klutz and my life can sometimes be a huge fail so I felt like I would be the one to like kick the plug during the interview causing the whole computer to shut down (btw if that happened I wouldn’t be able to take the web-based interview again). I don’t remember much about the web-based interview, but I can tell you this much: DO NOT BE HONEST! Answer the questions the way Disney would want you to answer. Your new motto should be “The Customer is Always Right!” Always go with the answer that screams that motto because most likely that’s the answer Disney is looking for. I also remember some of the questions being timed. If I remember correctly the time was 15 seconds for each question. There are also questions about teamwork and questions about your work ethic and sometimes even scenarios. So be prepared….. After the last question you usually find out right then and there if you are moving on to the next step or not. Hopefully you guys move on to the next step, which is the Phone Interview! :)
P.S. If any of you guys have any specific questions don’t be afraid to message me or anything. I promise I will answer! :)
