i feel like a big part of my issue with the romance options in dispatch is (some nsfw mention below):
.) the flirtation feels like it's because Robert is Man and Blonde Blazer/Invisigal are Women, not because they have actual chemistry as characters
.) you literally cannot opt out of some of the interactions; they force you into a date/kiss/etc. whether or not you want that, so there's no organic build-up to a natural confession/expression of feelings
.) pacing is a major issue. WHY do we get to kiss BB so early on? there just isn't enough actual chemistry or build-up for that moment to feel earned. see: point 1. maybe it's a hetero thing i don't know but a kiss feels like an important thing in a story that's not primarily supposed to be about romance. it should feel earned, and it's not. then of course invisigal and robert arguing for 3 episodes and suddenly she has a wet dream about him? where did that come from?
.) invisigal is painfully immature and badly written. her and robert could've been so interesting in a mentor/mentee dynamic because to be frank, she really behaves like a child. anything more than that is so uncomfortable. i really don't know why they made her romanceable and so overtly sexual
.) in general, blonde blazer and invisigal are poorly written because they are love interests before they are people; there's a lot of dissonance between who they are as people and their roles as LIs. the jump between BB's role as robert's Nice Boss to wanting to date robert at every opportunity and talking to him about literally nothing else and invisigal's role as professional teenager to oversexed Still Hetero tomboy make no sense
