Why do you like Tony, he isn't even poc and it seems like you find that super important. Steve is the same so why are you bitter against him?
Ah, one of these.
Well, see, Steve is more of a woe is me old fashioned dude. It’s not my style and something I can’t really relate to other than before he was Captain America. That’s the superficial foundation on why I don’t favor him as much as Tony. I could add more depth but I don’t have the energy to.
Tony, isn’t poc, yes, but I can relate to his beliefs in that he is more modern, and has the “narcissitic” tendencies that most people my age have if they’re that smart? Like most smart people are assholes until you get to know them. He fits a profile I can easily see through, whereas Steve has a profile I am very suspicious of. Both are manipulative people, but go about it in different ways? If that makes sense? Hold up, basically, Captain America is from a time I can’t relate to, he’s old, He wears red, white, and blue, he wants to protect americas good standards, blah blah blah. Tony is less concerned with gov’t, more into the people, manipulates the gov’t, uses his assets and power and gets his job done because he believes in it. They’re both stupid hot heads. But I feel Tony resembles the youth of this nation NOW than Steve ever could. Feel me?
Being poc doesn’t have anything to do with having money. I mean that in a manner that states that regardless of your ethnic background, if you have money you have advantage over people who don’t. This aspect is extremely important to me because I have been faced with oppression from my own latinx community because I am less financially secure. People who have money, regardless of the color of their skin, think they are better than those with no money. They cannot relate, at all, with the lower socio-economic community. This ‘lower’ community tends to have more poc people, but doesn’t mean there aren’t white poor people who are woke af and know better than most poc people with money.
Gosh this is really stepping on the lines. I’m getting into it now y’all.
Yes, race has a very obvious correlation with disparities in socio-economic areas among geographic and demographic locations across the nation.
But no, race has nothing to do with the correlation of being a dick and having money. That’s just the money.
Tony has money, but his whole characterization starts from being a sheltered white rich kid that just ruins lives and wastes people’s time to realizing oh holy shit what is happening here in the real world what are you doing with my guns?!?! He tries to do good.
Steve does too. I just can’t. Relate. To. Him. At. All.
I deal with people like Tony all the time because I’m a scholarship-poc-from-the-hood kid in a white-southern-rich-private university. The poc people have more money than I can dream of and I cannot relate to them AT ALL. Rich people suck. Being poor and poc is like finding a frog in the fake grass of the IM field for these people Jesus Christ. My language skills are nowhere near as proper as theirs is and apparently cussing is some kind of taboo to say out loud.
Tony is rich white kid that is more woke than most and is willing to listen to me when I want to rant about how you can’t just tell people that they “are super educated, you know, for where YOUR from,” because that’s rude and demeaning like fuck you? How you gonna’ say shit like that and say it’s okay because I’m not educated enough to have a proper opinion about race when I’m at the same fucking school as you? hello???
At least I know when I’m getting over charged for drugs that ain’t even shit wtf.
Anyway, I’m totally being political rn I’m sorry but yeah this is why I prefer Tony over Steve. He listens. When you sit his ass down and give him the tea. Everyone needs a lil’ tough lovin’.
