Trying something out, I think it's alright lol. CW : drugging, nausea, dissorientation, physical numbness, capture, nonhuman whumpees
The world was hazy to them as colors slid past their vision. Browns and greens, familiar shades, but nothing that made sense. Then others, muted and dull, dark blacks and greys like caves with no light. But that didn't make sense, they weren't running near the caves.
Running, panting, panic. They were supposed to be running, getting away, leading the strangers away. Their heart didn't speed up though, their limbs didn't move, yet their head bobbed like they were moving. It felt more like drifting.
Sounds were just as blurred as their vision, the voices coming through strangely, making no sense, speaking words they did not know. There were lots of voices, more strangers than the pack had thought. They hid well, and struck true. They hoped a few had not fallen as prey and managed to escape.
A jarring sensation deep in their bones as they stop moving. Did they fall? The rest of them is too numb to tell if they're on something soft, hard, rocky, or if their limbs are placed in odd positions or not. They could barely feel the rumble in their throat as a questioning whine left their maw. If there was a response, they couldn't hear it.
Lines across their vision didn't make sense. Straight and narrow like thread but not woven tight, perhaps a fishing net, pulled taught in front of their snout. They must be caught in a net now. The colors moved again behind the net, familiar colors replaced completely by the grey and blacks.
Their thoughts moved slowly, trying to catch up with what was going on. It felt like a dream, the world clouded by water or smoke, nothing clear or familiar. They all had been hunted, but not killed or eaten, yet. The strangers were keeping them alive. They didn't know if that was a better or worse fate.
Their ears twitched with the scraping of metal against metal. Faintly, somewhere, the sounds of their friends drifted in the air. Groggy like waking up, groans like another was sick, a high pitch of pain from somewhere below.
Their own stomach twisted, nausea blooming slowly from their gut. Their body moved but no feeling went with it, their brain sloshing with their thoughts and the bile rose slowly, burning their chest. Worse than when they hung upside down and watched the world backwards. Pain started to knock on their skull, paced with their heartbeat.
The world went black while their eyes were open. Unsure of when they ended up inside, but unlike any inside they had known. The strangers were shouting again, and the large structure roared and shook like a living monster. Their body jerked into something solid. Then their teeth were met with cold metal when they tried to bite into the "net" in front of them.
