Looking for signs of spring? In March, in America, the National Park Service makes ‘bloom predictions.’  The sensational spring Sakura is a symbol of renewal, a celebration of friendship.  This delicate and ephemeral vision is short-lived however, and also reminds us of the fleeting nature of life.  A gift from Japan in 1912, a variety of cherry trees landed in Seattle and made the long trek to Washington D.C by train.  You might think that Japan, or even Washington D.C, might hold the title of “Cherry Blossom Capital of the World.” Nope. That title goes to Macon, Georgia, home to over 350,000 Yoshino cherry blossom trees!  All over the world people celebrate these visually intoxicating and deliciously scented blooms.
